  1. wow 36.9 recorded at local weather station check out links http://www.wunderground.com/wundermap/?units=english&rad=1&rad.num=1&rad.spd=25&rad.opa=81&rad.type=00Q&rad.type2=&rad.smo=1&rad.stm=0&sat=0&stormreports=0&svr=0&pix=0&cams=0&tor=0&riv=0&wxsn=0&ski=0&tfk=0&mm=0&ndfd=0&fire=0&firewfas=0&extremes=0&hurrevac=0&sst=0&livesurge=0&femaflood=0&tsunami=0&seismicrisk=0&fault=0&fissures=0&fronts=0&dir=1&dir.mode=driving&hur=0
  2. first rubbles of thunder heard, also a few large rain drops, skies are looking really angry, and yes as I type thunder is rolling in.
  3. wow, just popped in from north Midlands, no rain today, not a drop been cloudy though.
  4. what a fab day, nearest station reports a high of 22.05 at 3.00pm this afternoon, been truly warm today, plenty pop and sunbathing. that was after a 3hour walk. current temps 19.7 lovelly eveing
  5. lighting over Derbyshire from July 2013, starts at about 50secs. filmed from Crich stand overlooking Derbys/Notts.
  6. Yep I don,t envy you that one bit, I was out and about at Moorhall Bakewell, and Youlgreave, wow it was bitter this afternoon, might be some more snow showers tonight
  7. lets put the sunny winter into perspective. checking the solar panel readings is quite interesting. all readings taken from November to Feb 28th SO Nov 12 to Feb 13 generated 360 units Nov 13 to Feb 14 generated 340 units Nov 14 to Feb 15 generated 363 units. so nothing special here sunshine wise, when system can generate 20 to 40 units a week in Feb. just routine fair.
  8. plenty snow here now, roads on tops starting to become tricky. snow settling here at 180mtrs on the tops 300m plus getting nasty now. no gritting, no salt so roads are slippy. temps started of at 4c now down to 1.5c
  9. well looking good again here for snow, North West Derbyshire just sneeked into a weather warning for snow again, could a good covering over the weekend.
  10. well lovely sunny day here this morning, bright blue sky, snow still on the hills but sadly not here now. (and I have put the snow shovel back in the shed)
  11. struggle to see how polar low cause that, been 1.1c to 0.3 here since 3.30pm yesterday not gone below 0 been very consistent with low temps.
  12. what you doing down there, moving further away from the Northern Winter lands, mind you closer to London and all that stuff. But you will miss the snow action the further South you go. My sons in London this year and he,s seen guess WHAT no snow, but up here this is our 3rd settling fall of over 5cms since Boxing day, as I type its still snowing heavy, 20 people stuck at work today at 2.00pm and all main roads closed because of accidents or blocked because of snow fall
  13. round two just started here, and its instantly moderate, with a few heavy bursts, radar looks good for 20mins maybe, need to keep a more West to East flow, if this keeps up cold have another 60mins of this. temps now 0.4 and dps of -2.2 so conditions look good for heavy wet snow.
  14. good god ANDY I cannot believe that, I really feel for you, having seen your posts for quite a few years now you needed to have witnessed the last 50mins here in North West Derbys. it been extra special NOT 35CMS that takes 4 or five hours to build but WOW its was so good for last hour, especially when you leave the pub with heavy snow and just starting to white over, and 40mins latter your in the street surrounded by Winterfell (HA Ha) plenty more to come, tonight. Maybe round two could start to veer more SSE so Leicester in the firing line rather than North Derbys, hope the temps, dps, are the right side for YOU, here its 0.5c with a dp of -2.2. good luck
  15. well that was fantastic, talk about snowmageddon, unbeleivable, have a lull at moment but radars are showing round two soon and looking, and round two looks better than round 1. so heavy in 50mins, hope next lot keeps its structure for here, there must be some huge falls on the higher Peaks.
  16. went out at 7.30pm thinking that's it, but was I wrong Blood-- hell its massive at the moment at moment. still snowing moderate now,
  17. OMG I Hope some of you are still up, heaviest snow for years here in 45 min burst absolutely unreal, left te pub 11.30 and its put down 3 inches in 45mins vids to follow.
  18. I sure god dam hope so, right in the middle of that lot,Meto have upgraded here at 5.00pm from light showers to a spell of heavy snow, bring it on
  19. Yep Peak District being hammered now, full on winter wonderland
  20. very heavy snow now, looks like no ones going anywhere here for next 2hours,
  21. plenty of rain out to NW and over NI, temps are very , very slowly falling, ha ha 8c to 7.6 in few hours, gonner be another good event here again, and by the look of it for most of Midlands.
  22. could have another tricky few days at work, due to be in Tideswell, Hathersage, Grindleford, Bradwell, basically all of the villages in the High Peak on Weds pm, and Thursday. Sadly no trips to Buxton yet ?? love looking at GFS ppn charts (just for fun) they show Buxton with approx. 50mm of ppn (all snow) now that would good if it was true. even met office site shows Buxton with heavy snow for 24hours.
  23. Met office definitely upgrading snow potential, last few days have shown snow showers , sleet, and some light snow on and off for Thursday but this morning its changed to periods of snow and then heavy snow all from weds evening through to Friday as well as some on sat/sunday.
  24. BS. IT was on Flash Lane and around Beely moor, on the road to Chesterfield. Alao deep snow at top of Syndnop Hill. can be easy to reach because they open the road to Chesterfield top of Slack Hill then can drive along the top roads, pretty flat. no big hills to descend, ha ha always have trouble going down the hills, even in 4x4 never up. attached photo was two days before vid, same road.
