  1. http://youtu.be/jehX6K3ctf0 we need a lot more of this, taken in March 25th 2013. so plenty of scope for some great winter weather. :cold:
  2. noticed that early seems to pepped up a bit. temps 0.8 dp at -1 local news did say possible snow this evening for North Derbys and North Notts.
  3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-23wkZfiGc video from this morning north Derbyshire. 20 min drive even in the panda it was a worry, but took it steady and no probs, just drove in tractor tracks. not sure on ASL on both towns, Matlock Youth hostel is around 180 to 190, I have free app on smart phone that displays asl when out, pretty handy. I have family in Wirksworth so will check this weekend. (I know my house is at 185m but as we know here a 10 min walk can take you to 250 easy
  4. Great Longstone at 11.00am this morning pretty difficult journey, what with fog and blowing snow very tricky approx. 20 to 25cms also plenty of vids from Beeley Moor most are at 250m to 350mtrs
  5. 0.6c here with dp of -1 5 to8cm and more to come on and off all day, I bet on the higher hills there will 10 to 15cm no problem, will find out soon when I venture out.
  6. quite heavy now is,nt it, gonner be a good covering, possible dry slot coming up before next ppn hits
  7. might of but 200m asl does, it plus on the southern end of pennies. precisely still have temps of 0.4 and dps of -2
  8. Thursday stays at 0c or below all day, so its all gonner freeze, Friday reaches 3 or 4 in evening then Saturday back to a high of 3.
  9. yep temps gone down a bit last 15 mins. now that's a real winter forecast snow.docx
  10. look at that lot over over Bristol channel and Gloucester, looks like it could be coming this way later.
  11. ha ha, coming at your loud and proud from the Peaks, best place for snow for years, we aint no Yorkshire softies ( ) its all sheep and of course snow, be carful with the sheep jokes, (sheep shag army bring it on), back to snow still going strong
  12. its looking great, the radar on fast loop just shows ppn piling in for hours and hours, just hope it can keep dp and temps low enough, should do, then we are going to have a good covering. just contemplating a trip out on to the tops, but not sure yet, to much fun watching it unfold.
  13. I can vouch for that 35cm everywhere, and over 60cm in the garden in patches. dp still -2 and temps 0.5
  14. 0.4c and dew point -3 and oh my have we seen the radar to the south west, starting to intensify now, gonner be great in early hours could be an all nighter.
  15. yep its gonner be good here for next 10 hours
  16. yep just started, looks like being an all snow event, not sure how met o forecasts can give heavy snow for 15 hours radar looks very iffy. theres lot going to have happen for it to increase although it is over 15 hours.
  17. funny you should mention trips, I;m going easy on wine tonight, so if I have to drive out I WILL. Beely Moor should do it.
  18. must be sweet spot, ppn incoming, temps 0.2 dp -4 asl 190m but quickly rising to 200 to 250m and then 300m on the tops, some 15min stroll away, ha ha
  19. could be another epic 24hours here, I liked SM risk map, put me in two overlapping sweet spots. luckly work tomorrow, that's if I can get out is in The Peak District all day, BBC weather report showed snow for 18 to 20 hours. :yahoo:
  20. what the hell are MET O UP TO for my location its showing snow from Tuesday 9.00pm to Thursday 6.00am, sometimes you just have to laugh at computer predictions, good to see though.
  21. well still looking complicated for the midlands, national and regional forecasts mention mostly rain,, hill snow etc. SM map puts me in the middle of two overlapping sweet spots, its gonner snow here, 200mts asl and all that, could be another boxing day event. Met o going for 8hours snow for Peak District, but I thinks there's going to be a lot of radar, and temperature monitoring going on.
  22. yes me and you both. But radars looking good for later. I,m off to Chesterfield in next 30mins will be there an hour so I will scan the Northern horizon for approaching snow ha ha. if I time it right I could be driving over Beely moor when the ppn arrives, then again it could bl....y weaken and split going left and right of Matlock. Heres hoping for more snow later this week.
  23. Winds just started to pick up here, and rain just started, going to be a long night plenty of weather action, and model as well. last storm here had a max gust of 38mph and that was shaking the house, so if we get anywhere near the 50mph or above then its gonner get a bit wild out there.
  24. well, old GFS 18z looks stunning out to t240, -12 850s a plenty, one things for sure for every one its going to bitterly cold in that flow. not looked past 240h yet but will do for fun. -11 850s touch base at t216 along way off but we can hope. picture from GFS
  25. Good old Met Office, Derbyshire now has a yellow warning for SNOW.
