  1. Seen quite a few in my neck of the woods
  2. Let's see how it looks after a few decent former tropical storms have been through and homogenised the water a bit. You'd expect it to warm up a bit on the surface through the summer just from exposure to solar radiation. Once Gert and a few more have been through to mix the top few feet out into the (cooler) water beneath that will give us a more accurate picture.
  3. love this visualisation of Gert - https://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/surface/level/overlay=temp/orthographic=-58.29,29.90,669/loc=-71.198,27.844
  4. Looks like the Tempfinder Gerneral has gone on his hollibobs again...
  5. Just noticed a couple of Rowan trees near my house have leaves which are showing signs of turning! Seems early. We had a good April and May but it has been well....patchy since. Can't think it's over watering from the rain that's causing the leaf turn.
  6. Might also be being influenced by solar output?
  7. I see every reason why it should, but then I'm seldom right...you only have to ask Mrs C!
  8. interesting to look at the anomalies and then the actual current values. https://earth.nullschool.net/#current/ocean/primary/waves/overlay=sea_surface_temp/orthographic=-113.40,37.78,327/loc=-34.491,50.831 is it just me or does the T gradient in the N Atlantic look steeper than the N Pacific?
  9. 16.3 I reckon. Nothing spectacular temps wise and the long run of well above average has to stop at some point..
  10. Can we just stop there please? That's my guess and I don't want it to go any higher or lower, so if you just all take a break until a fortnight tomorrow that would be good.
  11. I'm praying for a frost to bring It down to 11.6!
  12. is Hadley offline again or is someone just having a long weekend?
  13. La'al bit of downward correction and I might be within half a degree!
  14. I'll plump for 11.6 please...let's hope it's closer than March's dismal effort!
  15. If we do get any of those Spanish plumes, ill have to sleep in the car to get a decent nights kip! I can cope with days up to mid 20s but beyond that it just gets too damned humid. Don't mind the thunderstorms though, can't beat a really good air clearing, clattering, flashy thunderstorm!
  16. https://notalotofpeopleknowthat.wordpress.com/2017/02/19/arctic-fake-news/
  17. Maybe that's why the SSW's this time haven't had much lasting impact...
  18. Get the MT bit as Mountain Torque (?) What's the EA stand for please? Googled it and got lots of misses! Thanks
