  1. had nothing here, all night, even though there has been precipitation over us all night on the NW radar! Martin Skyrtle must have toe poked it away from us!
  2. i tell you, between this situation, and the merseyside derby, I think I'm gonna have a heart attack soon!
  3. put your location and above sea level height in your sig mate.
  4. looking at the radar, you've got a bit to come as well.
  5. well, so far, this exceptionally severe event has provided me here with a good few feet of fresh air. it's drifting too. my Advanced Precipitation Detector (APD ) is bloody freezing now. have to put a hat on!
  6. supposed to have been sleeting for well over an hour in my location, but I've seen nothing. loads of us on here have had the same. It's evaporating before it hits the ground apparantley.
  7. we could be crying TWICE tonight mate! this snow is like Keane, loads of promise, but ultimately VERY disappointing!
  8. very strange. precipitation is supposed to be well past us, but NOTHING at all is falling. Also, I can see the moon dead above me(through the clouds, very hazy). I remember seeing something similar before the big snow in 1982 too. maybe........? nah
  9. perhaps it is falling, but evaporating before it reaches the ground? is this a good, or bad thing?
  10. same here the sleet layer is WELL past us here in Maesteg, but nothing is falling on my APD ( advanced precipitation detector ) actually, it's my bald head, but it does a damn good job!
  11. yes, if you recall I said a few hours of snow. not a full day of it, in an EXCEPTIONAL event. there is nothing exceptional about this, looking at those charts anyway. not for South Wales anyway, unless those charts are WRONG. Also the west country, which was looking bang on to get plastered, have again missed out.(again, according to those charts) i call EXCEPTIONAL, 4 days of constant snow, like we had in 78/82, and drifts you could lose a tractor in!
  12. tbh, this is pretty much a non event now for s wales imho. yes, a few hours of snow, but lots of sleet and rain as well. looking at the precipitation type charts. unless they have got it VERY wrong that is, which i can't see, but you never know.
  13. those showers the poster above you highlighted look interesting.
  14. yeah, I'm glad for the kids. Now they know what a REALLY heavy snowfall is like. I'm sure my daughter thinks I'm a bare faced liar when I tell her about 78 and 82.
  15. lol I need a thaw to earn some money this week before the BIG ONE on Thursday! there's a big chance now that I'll only have two days pay this week. now THAT'S a bummer!
  16. nothing on the radar mate. you may get a shower coming off the channel, as the wind is now southerly, but it'll probably be rain now. I noticed the temps going up on my car thermometer as I was struggling home. we'll have a slow thaw now I suspect.
  17. yeah, similar here. Drifts are a bit deeper though, in my back yard anyway. went to work this morning(courier). Thought that snow that started was only a shower. Gave up trying to finish my work in a whiteout in North Cornelly, slipping around everywhere. I thought if it's like that down there, what's it like in Maesteg? Only just made it home. absolute nightmare.
  18. to be fair, there are a LOT of people living on the edge at the moment, given the precarious state of the economy. he HAS a point. A terrible period of lost days due to snow could be the straw that breaks a lot of people's, if not the entire country's back.
  19. coming down quite heavy now in Maesteg. Seems to have pepped up, doesn't it?
  20. yes lol you can plainly see the stuff blowing around. well, I've seen it twice! :o
  21. it's started now in Maesteg. very fine stuff so far, but it's blowing and drifting around.
  22. the south walians on here are gonna go loopy when this snow hits :lol there are some dark colours right in the middle of it too, some quite heavy stuff, covering quite a large area! Garth mate. land of the daft!
