intensity has definitely fallen away around us this past 15 minutes. lots less deep pink on the radar now. still quite an intense band heading for cardiff though Jay. definite signs of it fading away though.
yes, looking at it, something like 2 hours plus of snow in total, and that band you're on about seems to be slipping south of us for now. i'll keep an eye on it though. weird, you're right in the middle of it on the radar
sticking, no problem it's a bit of a problem tbh, because we have to go visit my mother in Bridgend Hospital, but looking at the radar, we might have a serious problem coming home. this is in for about 4 hours looking at the radar.
yep, agreed. we all have difficult jobs though, most of us not anywhere near the money these boys get. if we make mistake after mistake, guess what happens? there were a few posters on THIS forum who called this event spot on. Maybe they should replace all these Beeb/Met Office forecasters, eh?
yep we all know their were covering their behinds, BUT when a severe event DOES happen now, I reckon people will just brush it off, 'aw, nothing happened last few times, nothing will happen this time' cue hundreds of people getting trapped in cars etc etc I'm convinced that'll happen now.
i got to go out delivering now, all over south wales. Ogmore vale, Pont Nedd fechan, Neath, swansea, maesteg, bridgend, pencoed.
lovely. if it does turn nasty, i'll be right in it!
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
sleet here there's a mountain nearby that's about 1500 feet high, and the top 4 or 5 hundred feet is turning white, so i'd say the snow level is around 1000 feet asl at the moment.
interesting on the NW radar there is precipitation all around me here in Maesteg, and sleet is showing up as well. been out, and it's still dry, but encouraging to see the sleet level down here so soon.
lot of confusion. at least we are AWARE of the possibility of an extraordinary event this time.
30 years back we didn't have a clue.
at least everyone is 'prepared' for it this time.
good luck all anyway. off to bed. working in morning!
and if this low does what lows in this situation NORMALLY do and pull slightly further south than anticipated, it could be even BETTER, or worse, depending on your point of view?
