  1. light snow falling, and only sticking to the already lying snow. very thin accumulation so far. the bare patches, nothing. it is melting as soon as it hits them.
  2. yes, large clump now seems to be making a beeline for wales.
  3. as everyone else is saying, VERY fine grains falling steadily here. it'll be 2012 before we get an INCH at this rate! so much for the new ice age!
  4. yeah, definite steady but VERY light snow falling here now.
  5. yeah, weirdly a bit of snow just popped up past us here between port talbot and swansea too. i think this snow is just going to turn up out of thin air! edit - having said that, just looked out the window to see the odd flake flying around.
  6. now, where have I seen that before, hmmm? you need to be careful mate, might be considered spamming!
  7. snow is making DEFINITE movement towards my location here now on the radar. still around 20-25 miles N/NE, but a lot closer than it was.
  8. yes, but THIS time we really need some mild air to win the battle. OK, I'm resigned to losing money now, being a self employed courier, and I may as well enjoy the event, but ANY sign of mild is welcome to me! this is a pretty chart to me, even if it is in FI sorry to be off topic mods, but i am desperate for some HOPE in these charts!
  9. 100% now, eh Jay? you could always count the snowflakes as practise for your exam!
  10. very pretty Lemine. welcome to Wales. well, the Wales weather forum anyway!
  11. 15 cms drifting, will give you some surprising results, take my word for it. You'll have large patches of bare ground, and big tumps of snow here and there. i'm only telling you this because i don't think you youngsters have seen TRUE drifting snow yet around here yet, have you? it's amazing, and quite spellbinding in full flow.
  12. i deliver around your area DS, and thought 8 miles was a bit much, so I had a quick check on Google Earth, and you're actually around 5 miles from the nearest coast, at Ogmore by Sea. just thought you might like to know for future reference mate! looking at the forecasts, i'll be surprised if you'll be sitting that exam on wednesday, but forecasts have been wrong before.
  13. too many conflicting messages, that's for certain!
  14. the bbc forecast has changed again! amazing! snow everywhere tomorrow '...as we go into Monday, which SHOULD be a working day, yeah, do you think it will be?' holy cr*p!
  15. no expert here, but that is very much the way it is looking. Pop over to the model output thread and see what BBC forecaster Ian Fergusson is saying, and other experienced posters. That should make your mind up for you.
  16. interesting looking wedge of pink on the NW radar, from north of the wash heading over towards mid/south wales. we might just get the southern edge of it?
  17. can anyone give me a timeline of what the snow LOOKS like it will do over the next few days based on what we know NOW?
  18. 'really blizzard conditions at the Emirate Stadium now' Jeff Stelling, Soccer saturday
