  1. We ended up with a few flakes, not even enough to call a dusting but better than nothing.
  2. Weirdly the met office forecast for here has gone from no snow this morning and light snow later to this.
  3. Might have to get back in it if we don't get at least a few flakes tomorrow
  4. Arghh watch out, there's a humphrey about!! I really hope someone else remembers that advert, used to terrify me as a child.
  5. Mr Snowidea has just advised me it's snowing lightly here. I'm in the bath so can't corroborate
  6. Will only give up hoping for snow in Falkirk, if the met give us a weather warning. If that happens we're snookered
  7. Chilly in Falkirk, but it was colder in Glencoe which was where we were last night for a swift mini break. Sadly ended up traveling home on the back of a flat bed as the van seems to have a binding brake caliper (red hot wheel). Hoping it's not something more expensive. Mr Snowidea got a few cracking pictures before we were rescued. I don't think there can be anywhere more beautiful than Scotland on a day like today.
  8. Bledhen Nowydh Da (happy new year in Cornish) to you all. We've abandoned the kids, cats and dog and escaped to Paris for a few days. Lovely weather today, but going to chuck it down tomorrow. Oh well, nothing we're not used to. Picture of the Sacre Coeur. @Hairy Celt 100% agree, such an awful tragedy and no help or hope it seems.
  9. It's still snowing here, though it might have some rain mixed in with it now.
  10. OK getting quite white now, we're not in the warning area either. MOV_1810.mp4
  11. Radar suggests light snow, window suggests nothing that I can see. Update, now mini flakes.
  12. Weather looks horrendous further north, here it's just steadily chucked it down all day. Grown up son made it to Edinburgh and no further as his train south was cancelled, so he's back here sulkily looking at trains for tomorrow. Nice for me to have him for an extra day but suspect he can't wait to get home. It's hard to go from living on your own to a house of teenagers, cats and dogs lol
  13. Chucking it down again here after a brief, beautiful, sunny and frosty day yesterday. Took grown up son up to Loch Lubnaig for a quick walk and he's off home today to Devon by train, so hoping the storm doesn't cause him too many issues. We also caught the moon halo last night, it was huge.
  14. Raining here, rain feels sleety but I suspect that's just wishful thinking. Currently fighting with the Chrismas dinner and wondering if it's too early to open the bubbly. Merry Christmas all, send snow pics
  15. 11 degrees and wet here in Falkirk, about to drag the dog round the trails (he hates rain) then settling down for some Christmas film viewing. Grown up son is up from Devon and has suggested a film called RRR which apparently is so bad it's good. Happy Christmas all.
  16. Fab pictures, what's a PSC? My husband took this photo, he was wondering if it was an aurora
  17. Our heating is fixed so I'm no longer cold and smelly. Also, last night I had a lovely catch up with some friends in Bo'ness. I was the designated driver and naively let my friend Gayle navigate home. We ended up on a very narrow, very dark, muddy, rutted, lane. I've still no idea where we were. Top tip if the friends you're driving home have all necked a bottle of prosecco each, stick to roads you know. Anyway while driving on this muddy, rutted, farm track masquerading as a road we saw a bright green flash falling to the ground. It was really bright, really fast, really close and totally amazing. I'm assuming it was one of the Germid meteors (though we were close to the Bonnybridge triangle). Luckily this morning I can still see, so I think we're safe from man eating plants
  18. Well we've had no hot water or heating since Monday, spent last night boiling water in our soup pan to fill the bath so I could go into the office this morning. It was like a glimpse back to the 70s when as a child I had to bathe in an inch of water, in a freezing cold bathroom (no central heating). I don't miss that at all. Keeping my fingers crossed for a snowy Christmas (as long as my heating is fixed today as promised by British Gas).
  19. We've been out for a long wet dog walk, so he's now smelling like an old carpet.
  20. Chucking it down with horrible cold rain, snow rapidly disappearing. Ah well it was an unexpected treat while it lasted.
