Chilly in Falkirk, but it was colder in Glencoe which was where we were last night for a swift mini break. Sadly ended up traveling home on the back of a flat bed as the van seems to have a binding brake caliper (red hot wheel). Hoping it's not something more expensive. Mr Snowidea got a few cracking pictures before we were rescued. I don't think there can be anywhere more beautiful than Scotland on a day like today.

Bledhen Nowydh Da (happy new year in Cornish) to you all. We've abandoned the kids, cats and dog and escaped to Paris for a few days. Lovely weather today, but going to chuck it down tomorrow. Oh well, nothing we're not used to. Picture of the Sacre Coeur. @Hairy Celt 100% agree, such an awful tragedy and no help or hope it seems.

Weather looks horrendous further north, here it's just steadily chucked it down all day. Grown up son made it to Edinburgh and no further as his train south was cancelled, so he's back here sulkily looking at trains for tomorrow. Nice for me to have him for an extra day but suspect he can't wait to get home. It's hard to go from living on your own to a house of teenagers, cats and dogs lol

Our heating is fixed so I'm no longer cold and smelly. Also, last night I had a lovely catch up with some friends in Bo'ness. I was the designated driver and naively let my friend Gayle navigate home. We ended up on a very narrow, very dark, muddy, rutted, lane. I've still no idea where we were. Top tip if the friends you're driving home have all necked a bottle of prosecco each, stick to roads you know. Anyway while driving on this muddy, rutted, farm track masquerading as a road we saw a bright green flash falling to the ground. It was really bright, really fast, really close and totally amazing. I'm assuming it was one of the Germid meteors (though we were close to the Bonnybridge triangle). Luckily this morning I can still see, so I think we're safe from man eating plants

Well we've had no hot water or heating since Monday, spent last night boiling water in our soup pan to fill the bath so I could go into the office this morning. It was like a glimpse back to the 70s when as a child I had to bathe in an inch of water, in a freezing cold bathroom (no central heating). I don't miss that at all. Keeping my fingers crossed for a snowy Christmas (as long as my heating is fixed today as promised by British Gas).

Chucking it down with horrible cold rain, snow rapidly disappearing. Ah well it was an unexpected treat while it lasted. -
