  1. Will they be your kids Stormeh or just random ones that you pass? Happy New Year all xx
  2. We're not even in the warning area so just rain for us, which I don't need as found a leak today.
  3. Took the dog for a walk/swim this morning, it was wet. Working tomorrow, which is going to be very wet so Mr Snowidea gets to walk/swim him tomorrow
  4. Dropped grown up son to Edinburgh airport at 6.30 this morning, very icy roads in Falkirk as last night's dusting had frozen. Came home and much to the dog's delight (and hubby and the teenagers tbh). Went back to bed and sleep. All woke up about 30 mins ago and it was snowing. Perfect timing.
  5. Borders are the best dogs and rightly grumpy about hats. Snow a bit heavier here now. MOV_0951.mp4
  6. Went out to walk the dog, nearly fell on my weeble on several occasions, gave up trying to walk the dog and opted for a sort of shuffle/slide motion to get back to the house.
  7. Baaa humbug that weather warning neatly cuts us out here in Falkirk Dinner on, table laid and bubbly chilling. Good luck for the white stuff to those of you in the yellow bit.
  8. Met office has us at 5 degrees but the bin lid has frozen shut. Stupidly went to Tesco for the Xmas shop today, still traumatised. Nice atmospheric mist on late afternoon dog walk.
  9. Made it home in 11 hours, weather warning for rain in the south west, weather was soggy but not torrential. No weather warnings for the North or Scotland, trip from Lancaster up totally filthy. Windy, wet, pools of water on motorway, people driving like rather silly people , van making an odd noise but we made it home in time to wash the kids uniforms for tomorrow. Photo Tebay services.
  10. Oldest son travelling up from Devon for Christmas, I've suggested he brings a coat. I know this is unlikely, but it would help cheer us all up.
  11. Loving all the snow pictures, looks beautiful. We've delayed our trip north until Monday to avoid the numerous weather warnings en route. Mum's send off went well, blue sky above, chapel packed out, she'd have loved it. Keeping fingers crossed for some white stuff over Xmas.
  12. It's nippy down here in Cornwall but nothing on you guys back home and no snow. County seems to have gone a bit barmy though, closing schools or opening them late because it's icy, do not travel warnings It's weird, eldest son (who's a teacher in Devon) tells me there's no grit and no one to do the gritting, so possibly that's the reason for the travel warnings. Funeral is on Friday, driving home on Sunday, hoping for a non eventful journey. Beach today
  13. Loving all the snow pictures, we made it to St Ives, 13 hour drive through light snow, fog, ice and accidents galore (not us luckily). The one below held us up for a while. There's even a dusting of snow in Cornwall, up over the moors mainly. We do have a snow warning though, not likely to see any in St Ives (though we have had snow in the past). Cottage has pretty lights.
  14. Beautiful cold crisp day here, I can see snow on Ben Vorlich and surrounding hills across the Forth. Mixed feelings about the coming cold spell as sadly I'm going to be down in Cornwall for a week from Saturday as my poor old mum passed away on Sunday. She had a long, happy and mostly healthy life though and made it to 93. She always loved seeing the snow when she came up to visit, so if the central belt is gifted some white stuff while I'm away I'll look at the photos and dedicate it to mum. Photo is mum at 87 with some of her friends.
  15. Congratulations @Hairy Celtenjoy being a Grandad. Braved the shops in Edinburgh with my daughter yesterday (inset day so no school) was bright, windy, chilly and not too busy. It is a beautiful city but the shops are too far apart, walked what felt like miles to get to a shop called urban outfitters who sell the sort of clothes I wore in the 80s. We're staying home for Christmas so hoping for some cold weather this year
  16. Actually needed gloves on the morning dog walk. Patches of frost and even saw an iced up puddle
  17. Got back from another week in Cornwall on Monday. Mum's back in hospital but it's a huge relief to know she has 24 hour care. It was just grim to think of her stuck in her bed in her flat waiting on a carer who didn't always turn up Was warm, wet and windy in Cornwall then back here more of the same. Though Tuesday was nice between showers (pictures below). Yesterday I got the dreaded pink line, cough, cough, cough. Don't feel too bad, more like a heavy cold than flu. Hope all are well and that it cools down soon.
  18. We got back from a week in Cornwall last Friday, took 15 hours to get home the traffic from Taunton to Preston was awful. T-shirt weather in St Ives, jumpers back on now we're home, though it's not exactly freezing. Think we'll be back down again before too long as poor old mum not doing well at all. Congratulations @Hawesy
  19. North Third Reservoir for us today. There was a nip in the wind but warm enough in the sheltered bits. Great walk @RebsAbboenjoying your pictures.
  20. Had a wonder up Ben A'an on Monday, it was relatively quiet for a change despite the fab weather. Wood burner went on last night.
