  1. It looks like we have had a wee flurry, the edges of the grass have a white tinge to them, fingers crossed more to come overnight. Air temp has now fallen to 0.2deg/C.
  2. Clear sky's here...no hint of anything on the radar its all fizzling out as it heads east. I loved that lamp post video posted a page or two back...what I'd give for that. Ground temp reading -4.2deg/C, Air temp 0.8deg/C...everything is in place we just need snaw. Good old Beeb forecast spot on again...thank Christ I stopped paying my licence.
  3. Well after the anti-climax of the snow midweek Fife's snow shield in full force once again, it being second only to the beast from the east forecast for last Christmas (that still brings a smile to my face, the mad thread was committing Hari Kari it was a bloodbath) we have some lying snow, not sleety pish actual proper snow...amazing. Cold too...current temperature 0.3deg/C. The snow appears to be quite widespread on the radar at the moment, sadly the temperature is set to rise during the night.
  4. I was in Perth this afternoon 11deg/C showing on the motors thermometer...then came the rain lashing down, it was quite a downpour. On the way home it was giving it big licks at Kinross...lots of standing water.
  5. Your CCTV images are superb, I'am currently looking for a new system would you mind sharing the make and the kit you have installed. Thanks...
  6. This looked interesting...until the high pressure moves east. Then like the flick of a switch...back to mild SW winds. You would think with all that massive energy stored up in the jet stream it would obliterate the high pressure as it crosses the Atlantic...but no its stubborn..!!!
  7. We had a light dusting of sleety snow the other morning which was great to see. Last night was the coldest for a long time -3.2deg/C, I can still see the frost glistening on the shed roof...are we finally seeing a pattern change to something more seasonal...or will autumn return.
  8. Shock horror there was kind of white stuff falling from the sky this afternoon...it was wet and sleety and that was it, it didn't even think about settling. Cold Wet Pish would be a good description.
  9. Good to see some getting snow...it looks great, not a flake has fallen here since the end of November I'am getting very concerned we won't see snow this winter. Apparently its to be double digits again on Monday...anybody want a snow shovel..???
  10. Two snow events separated by massive area's of high pressure covering the Atlantic keeping the cold miles away from the UK...rinse and repeat a week later but with a small chance of a bit of cooler air over the UK. I can't remember high pressure being so dominant in winter that nearly the whole of January has been a write off as far as cold is concerned...time is rapidly running out for a sustained cold spell...apparently its all the Polar Vortex fault as its too strong, when it does split it could be March and that's too close to Spring Time warmth appearing. Sorry about the doom and gloom but this weather is dire.
  11. So Autumn continues...this is beyond boring this dross weather, but look a small glimmer of something cold from WX Charts...fingers crossed.
  12. Dull again...currently 6.3 deg/C, its dried off again though. I zeroed the thermometer before going to bed last night...overnight Min was 5.9deg/C Max was 7.6deg/C...not what I would call winter weather. At this rate the snaw shovel won't be out the shed this year.
  13. Yawn...another day of boredom weather wise, the air temp is currently showing 5.4deg/C the ground temp is -2.4deg/C, the Beeb weather is forecasting a frost tonight...what actual winter weather miracles will never cease...I'd like to wake-up tomorrow to a white frost but I think its too dry for that. Here's a small clip to spread some snow cheer...its a snippet from that wonderful Easterly event in February 21. Snow Shower.mp4 When I get my new super fast laptop up and running I'll put up whole day up its quite something to see.
  14. Yes its quite incredible...the 50MT Russian Tsar Hydrogen Bomb from 1961 blasted a shockwave three times around the world...that must have been scary.
  15. Where's the snaw..??? I've not been interested in the weather one bit so far this winter (or extended Autumn if you like) what dreary mild damp pish we are stuck in...its horrible. The only pictures I have to share of any white stuff are from late November and early December.
  16. A low of -3.4deg/C here overnight which is a decent frost for winter never mind spring...interesting weather. Fingers crossed for beautiful sunny day oh wait the Met Office weather is showing snow for later on...the snaw shovel oot again..??? Single digit temperature max till Tuesday then things looking to warm up a bit.
  17. Just had a wee shower pass over...not hail or snow ( apparently its called Graupel ) the temp dropped very quickly it was sitting around 8deg/C then 5.8deg/C during the shower, the cloud temp measured -8.6deg/C so there is plenty cold there. I couldn't grab a picture it melted so fast...next time maybe..!!!
  18. Incredible this projected cold spell...its a shame not much will come of it unless you happen to live high up, if anything does make it down to lower levels it won't last long with the strength of the sun, the temperature is +6.5deg/C there will be no snow here. 2020/21 has to be one of the best winters for a very long time I have managed to capture video of quite a bit of the very heavy snow showers we had a month ago I'am trying to put together a timelapse video of an afternoon's worth of footage...if it works it'll look very good.
  19. Everything has dried up again and hopefully another nice sunny day...the temperature has recovered to +2.7deg/C from an overnight low of -3.2deg/C. Its great to see everyones April snow pictures.
  20. I knew right away by the sound it was making that it wasn’t rain being blown against the windows it was wee bits of ice and snow...sure enough the tops of the cars are getting white... Snow in April...it’s many many years since I’ve seen that, the last time must have been in the 90’s...I was at Knockhill for the bike racing and a whiteout appeared from the north west and wiped out the days racing...I remember it being exceptionally cold that day ( normal Knockhill weather is just cold )
  21. Its starting to get a bit heavier now...looking at the radar we (thegreen dot) are sitting in one of darker spots. The temps are holding up well...Air -2.9deg/C, Ground -7.0, Cloud -9.0 Its blowing around as well...small flakes covering all the bare patches.
  22. Wow what a week...I coudn't keep up with the posts on this thead they were coming thick and fast just like the...snaw. Of what I've tried to keep up with it seems most have had a dream snow event...around here its been pretty good I reckon an easy 8-10" possible more..??? Everywhere you look is white its just fantastic...I had a run throught Gendevon this morning (the reservior was frozen over) it looked stunning. I'am amazed how long the cold has lasted, the lowest air temp I've seen is -10deg/C from the display on the motor and the lowest ground temp -21.5deg/C which smashed my previous best -13.5deg/C from a lot of years ago...what a superb winter so far this is what it should be like every year. Now to find some time to look back the posts and see all the pictures posted...can't wait.
  23. What a great evening watching snaw...this has been the best event for a years...also good to see so many getting a decent fall as well. Snow 8-2-21.avi Fingers crossed more to come on Tuesday.
  24. Twenty minutes ago I moaned aboot nae snaw...noo its lashing doon...ye canny win..!!!
