  1. Currently snowing here with hail Bitterly cold too Feeling colder than February.
  2. Quite a mild winter up here all in all first winter in 20 years I've not seen a snow drift on the tops. Not going to see one anytime soon either.. Here's hoping the mild weather will progress into a warm summer. The charts this winter have not been great imo . It's been a bit like buying a top shelf mag With blank pages .
  3. I hope we don't get any cold weather now. I'm enjoying been out in the garden with a tee shirt on . I'd rather wait till December and chase the 10 day charts again.
  4. Daffodils are coming up in my garden buds on the tree's. I think were in for another nice spring and another hot summer I went for a walk down the country lane earlier it actually felt pleasantly warm in the sun... I have wrote this winter off and put it down to experience. Even if we get a cold spell mid march it won't last long.
  5. Whens the Hunt for a warm spring thread roll out Start it on Friday for me.
  6. I think its different this time with the SSW before they was no high pressure in place when the SSW was effective on the 22nd of December 18. to our East this time there is high pressure to our East. I think high pressure to our East is a big player when it comes to the SSW and increasing its effects. If the current models project an easterly another beast is possible with lots of snow and with cold breaking temps. I think this winter will end with memories for lots of us.
  7. I was wondering how long it would take. Also does it help having a high pressure in place to enhance the effect of the SSW..
  8. There's a weather warning and chance it might turn to heavy sleet lol
  9. At least I'll have some black ice to look forward to on my way home from work in the early hours The met office should get that right at least. I'll warn my insurance company now.
  10. I remember when it used to snow in January .
  11. Thats my hat and gloves back in the wardrobe until next winter Roll on summer.
  12. More chance of getting flooded than snowed in .lol
  13. Good post but i may stand to be corrected but the North Sea temp should help The Eastern side of the uk in terms of snow. The coastal side of eastern uk is currently having snow showers on a NNW at 4.oC. As i say good post and correct me where necessary.
  14. NWS the current radar is looking interesting Anyone having snow in the NW central or northern areas.
  15. Good post couldn't agree more. Happy radar watching I don't expect an early night put it that way... I would advise people not to panic at day 8 9 10. Lets see T120 first.
  16. Tonight's 18z for this Sunday night I'm surprised no one is talking about it . It could be potentially quite disruptive For northern areas eastern area's and the south east. One to keep an eye on. Gale Force winds and frequent rapid shower activity. Below freezing at night in a bitterly cold wind. Drifting snow even to lower levels is possible no guarantee but possible Locally disruptive to hills and steep slopes . Any snow that does fall will settle on dry frozen ground. At this stage beyond T120 hrs is a big if. I would take anything passed T120 day by day And certainly for those watching the radar Sunday night into early hours of monday . Hour by hour. As the shower activity could be forming and moving quickly. The precip radar will be earning its keep Sunday night.
  17. Looking forward to getting snowed in early hours of Sunday morning and into monday night.
  18. Most of Your posts don't make sense Is it possible to back these up with a chart or evidence.
  19. Today's 12z for Wednesday still cold one or two showers in there. I'm personally going to have 10 days off model watching .and on here.. and any kind of BBC forecasting or weather. Then start again in 10 days i actually feel physically exhausted when a hobby gets you like that its time for a break.
  20. Lol i nearly spat my coffee out reading that. In the longer-term the 00z doesn't seem to bad its around T168 thats .flooring people in the mod thread i think The update from the met office is still very cold with snow well into feb.
  21. Tonight's 18z if thats not a beast i don't know what is. Some may wonder why I post precip charts mostly . Mainly because there different but easy to follow . There not gospel But I've had positive comments from newbies about my postings You guys and girls more experienced Know why these charts would attract newbie attention. I don't know what an upgrade on a upgrade looks like. I'm sleeping with one eye open next Wednesday night and beyond. Widespread snow showers filtering well inland imo.
  22. Top post if it gets removed fair enough but that needed saying top class.
