20cm of snow forecast for my area on Friday and 80mph winds I'll take that.

I think there's more chance of a Nuclear winter, than a Arctic Winter. The Media is doing a good job of potentially creating WW3 imo. I'm hoping for a snowy March My Garden is very dry I'd welcome some rain too.

Is the GFS 18z having loading problems tonight. I can't view the 18z past T96 hrs. I'm using weatheronline expert charts Anyone else experiencing this.

I'm not disappointed by the 06z GFS. Looks like plenty of opportunity for cold getting to us from the east initially.. Heavy snow currently in my location And getting heavier.

Darren Bett in his outlook forecast mentions Mild 12 times in his 3 minute forecast and the word warmer 4 times. Just an observation ..

I looked at the 18z Friday night Went online put £10 on, for a white Christmas in London i got odds of 20/1. Not only have I wasted £10, that i could of spent on bottles of Stella I've got egg all over my face I've got enough to bake a Christmas cake. The 00z has made me . Break into my stash of Christmas beer.

I never really expect snow in my location before Christmas anyway Remote North Yorkshire. Most years its mid to late January before any snow falls And by god I've certainly seen lot's of snow drifts 6ft and more over the years I'm going to have Christmas off from looking at the charts. I can't really see the point looking past T240. New year again for me chart viewing This last week has been interesting But with no decent scandi high or Greenland high. And the westerly flow making headway more and more on each run. I've enjoyed the ride much like others on here. Still only December. If it's going to be mild I'd expect some sunshine then to compensate

Hard not to ramp with the current models. Potential for several days of frequent heavy snow showers just about anywhere South East. And North East most favoured but not exclusively Blowing in a gusty Easterly, We'll know more on snow / wintery showers in the few days coming i suspect. Chart below 18z for Christmas day.

GFS18z T222 I haven't got the foggiest , sorry to post with no clarity I'm genuinely sorry members. I can't forecast with charts like this.

ECM T240. I'm not going to turn my nose up at that.. I remember sometime in 1995 An Easterly brought heavy snow to the Eastern side of the UK Due to slightly warmer than average North Sea Temps. One to keep an eye on In my opinion..

I hear alot about models struggling when the high or low pressure wants to push from East to West. Is this a common issue in the Northern hemisphere. Or does the southern hemisphere Have the same issue when the high or low pressure wants to move From West to East I've tried for a long time to get to grips with this , I have a basic meteorological understanding. But i still struggle with why multi million pound computers struggle I think if I had a better understanding I think I could be a better self forecaster, and learn valuable information.

This was on my way home from work last night unexpectedly snowed roads like sheets of ice... Note worthy on the 18z GFS For next Tuesday night possibly another named storm approaching Potential for some low level snow opportunities even further south.

I'd be getting excited if the scandi high was building up to a minimum of 1048mb and a little further west, There's plenty of opportunity getting put out by computer models But until I see a 1048mb forming I can't get excited I'd love too Nothing better than to see a scandi high, I'm hoping to see it form within the next 48hrs. In my location we've had quite a bit of snow in the last 6 days. I'm like Oliver, I'd like more Sir More sorepaw more, you mean you want more.
