  1. My conservatory has frozen up as there is no heating in there. 06z looking better this morning a very cold outlook.
  2. No snow here yet , but the clouds are becoming very dark and grey. Weather channel radar looks good on advanced mode for around 2pm. But still not definite, the clouds building this morning have taken me by surprise, I wasn't quite expecting the potency if you know what I mean, that's the beauty of the North Sea at the moment.
  3. Big black snow clouds gathering here Will upload pics once I've had a cuppa , and put more logs on the fire. My bathroom is blooming freezing this morning. Is it currently snowing in Bempton Mike57.
  4. Had snow here during the early hours a reasonable covering , But Black ice is the biggest hazard .
  5. Merry Christmas Ho Ho Ho, yes I'll spend Christmas with a sore throat and chesty cough, Symptoms eased with a Whisky or 2 And a cigar and a roaring log fire. I hope your Christmas is going to be as happy as mine. I'll spread my festive wishes to you and your family and not my germs. Stay happy and warm.
  6. I think most places will see snow within the next 7 days. Even central London and the South East, further North and East, copious amounts 15cm + there you go I've said it . Enjoy the models, and further weather warnings from the Met Office in the next 48hrs. Stay lucky everyone.
  7. I saw a BBC Forecast mentioning thunder and hail and snow. You might get lucky Mike so close to the coast.
  8. Morning all, just had a moderate sleet & hail shower here. With any more showers moving in this afternoon, I'll try and get some pics before dark.
  9. Chart below GFS 00z, pretty decent imo. Also for those interested I've put a map together, with all Met Office weather stations for coastal areas around the UK One thing I've noticed is there is far more in the south and west than in the East.
  10. Very impressive 18z GFS a T+87 hrs Wednesday I wouldn't rule out snow showers for London and the South East Wednesday night . Trying not to come across as ramping but it's getting impossible not to mention snow in posts with what's showing .
  11. I think they will be a very different update in the next 48hrs and maybe some Amber weather warnings issued.
  12. I'll stick with what I've said snow showers will be noticeable into Wednesday afternoon into the evening, Thursday and Friday much the same, if fact Friday could see more organised snow showers and maybe more organised bands of snow around the Whole of the Yorkshire area. I will update again Monday evening. For East and North Yorkshire And mention West & South.
  13. I went to the lazer light show at Scarborough tonight, low cloud and drizzle made it quite a good show. Cold for the coast at 6.C.
  14. Take it with a pinch of salt SYorks. I stick to Regional Mate when it's like that. I use ECM GFS plus other data. I generally do my own forecasting . I read other people's opinions and thoughts, but I don't see how someone in London for example, can forecast for my area in front of laptop an accurate forecast for my area . I actually get out in this area and study all weather types and I have for nearly 30+ years. And getting out in the field is a great form of learning and great form of developing your owns skills.
  15. You should start seeing the first of the snow showers in Grimsby around late afternoon on Wednesday into the night. Don't hold me to it but I'm quite confident . As for the wolds area Wednesday late afternoon into the evening should start seeing snow showers filtering in, on a brisk NNE wind. Temperature I'd expect Octon to be at 5pm Wednesday would be 1.oC and a 31mph wind speed. And the same for Sledmere Not Sure if late afternoon snow showers will reach the Fridaythorpe area till after 7pm. But I'll firm up details for North and East Yorkshire Northern areas. Tuesday night. Anyone wanting live weather reports and travel information I'm happy to help, when I can and stationery.
  16. I'm analysing all data I've got available, I'll be viewing the 18z & 00z, I'm in no way concerned .
  17. I think it's because of this The 1060mb Greenland High is pushed away within a few days. In my opinion not possible. Look at both charts below.
  18. I'll be on here throughout all next week with accurate information and any streamer activity.. Looking forward to it.
  19. I agree the NYM and Wolds are prone to snow. It can be raining in Bridlington but covered in snow at Sledmere. My winter car is an old 2004 XC70 2.5 Turbo Petrol with 4 Goodyear Alpine grip winter tyres brand new for this winter. It goes like a missile very comfortable and feels safe on the road. My other car is a 2019 BMW 750iL not good in the snow if fact appalling and warns me about everything. Nice car on dry roads and motorways that's it. To be honest I prefer the Volvo in some ways.
  20. Trying to keep up with the posts is nigh on impossible. Tbh I'm just going to stick here in the Regional thread. And post charts and forecasts here. Plus I want to keep updated on the Yorkshire area by local people to this area. The MOD thread has excellent posts but not for me when it's busy. I love the excitement in there and the ups and downs. From Next Tuesday I'm touring the East and North Yorkshire areas giving live weather reports and photos and travel information. In my Volvo XC70 AWD Hoping I'll manage in it, if the drifting snow is above 20" I'll struggle.
  21. Octon Roundabout gets bad that's usually where the Police close the road. Either to the B1249 or the B1253. When that's the case people would be better heading East towards Bridlington on the B1253 because it's generally down hill that way and closer to the coast. Just after Rudston is about the only tricky part, towards Boynton area.
