@booferking brilliant way to end the winter if that's it, so cool to experience a proper hours long blizzard!
Is your first photo from the golf club?

I knew you would win the competition Sperrin, unfortunately precipitation mostly fizzled by the time got here so not much need for a ruler just yet!
Very unusual to get such drifting snow over here, we're usually covered in wet NW snow. Really is beautiful out there. Took my youngest 2 out for a play, they last 10 mins before the freeze got to them

Someone on boards.ie weather section who's been wrecking everyone's heads for the last month just posted he's being b***hed about on netweather.
I'm sure he's an alright lad but just needs to be not so IMBY focused.
This is hilarious and some ways comforting as I always thought I was a bit too wrapped up in the weather but lads like that make me feel a bit more normal

I'm right in that orange zone! BTW, who runs that page? Is it just an amateur operation for a hobby?

We should have a competition, see who gets the deepest snow. Out with a ruler tomorrow, take a pic and post on here.
My money’s on Sperrin
Have to get the dodgy ruler that starts at 4 inches

BBC Weather

Good news is she mentioned those magical words of significant snowfall on Saturday. Looks like this period will go out with a bang before much milder weather pushes in on Sunday.

Interestingly the euro4 has todays precipitation easily reaching the far north of the island this evening. Basically hitting ulster around 5pm and still in situ in the early morning hours. No idea of intensity as I imagine it will fizzle out.
Its already well over Munster, any pics from down the country?

Very interesting segment from Alex Deakin on Facebook, explains some charts that always stump me really well.

@SnowJon warning was just issued at 11.12am so perhaps the forecast text will change later in the day?
