  1. Well Guys, back again for the winter season. We had some weekend of rain there in west Tyrone. Some of the rivers running through Omagh nearly breached the bridges throughout the town centre. On Friday afternoon a huge lighting bolt struck very close to my car (thunder arrived within a second) between Dromore and Omagh (just before the Belleek turnoff) happened to have window down slightly and could feel the shock wave. Closest I have been to a strike. Phenomenal power. Looking good for the weekend re snow and the model/strat thread looking interesting for the coming weeks. Although we had a great winter '14/'15 overall in terms of regular, heavy snow in our area.
  2. Complete damp squib up here, very thick cloud cover meant you could see nothing.
  3. Couple of hefty snow showers passing through. Snow lying on all surfaces.
  4. Lying snow here now, honestly didn't think we'd get any as it didn't feel cold enough and ground is saturated. Showers appear to be coming in from a WSW direction and, on the radar, look to be intense enough. Could have some good snow overnight!
  5. Could be an interesting night. Looking at radar there appears to be very heavy organised bands of showers heading our way. we've got a fresh covering here at the min and looks to be no respite. Doesn't feel overly cold outside but the slushy snow has froze over on the car in last hour. The roads will be serious in the morning!
  6. There appears to be some great shower activity heading directly for us in a few hours looking at the radar.
  7. More reply options, choose photo then attach photo.
  8. That looks awesome! Hope it pushes well inland...all our precip falling as snow today.
  9. Appears to be fragment ing as it is moving SE.
  10. Sone snaps from round the house.
  11. Wow we got pasted overnight(at least 12cm) wasn't expecting that at all as the showers appeared to be heading north and south of us. Will stick up some pics when it get brighter.
  12. Met.ie continually have crap forecasts online, bit of a joke from a publicly funded body.
  13. Looking at the radar and the showers appear to be coming in more from a NW to SE direction compared to earlier when there was more of a W to E movement. Small respite at the minute but no doubt it will pick up again shortly!
  14. Really can't do justice to the blizzards via camera. You can see the snow being lifted off the ground already. At least an inch an a half snow lying in last 45 mins. Bara Best may be feeling a bit sheepish this evening! Haha
  15. Apocalyptic snow shower incoming! Great stuff.
  16. Holy crap...don't think iv seen a blizzard this intense in my lifetime. Didn't expect the wind to be so strong. Within 15 mins it has drifted up the window sill to glass level. The start of good things to come?
  17. Those met warnings look deadly, could be some huge snowfalls!
  18. Saw this on Twitter, they must be expecting something good!
  19. Blizzard conditions here in Omagh.
  20. Looking at the Omagh weather station and temps have dropped from 2℃ to 1℃ in last hour with dew points at -0.9℃. Radar showing some tasty showers arriving imminently.
  21. Wow! Full on blizzard here now. This could be epic!
  22. Model thread looking really good at the minute. Whisper it but the chances of a significant cold/very cold prolonged spell have increased big time.
  23. Ironically the BBC app has now upgraded next three days to snow days for me!
  24. Where u seeing these? BBC forecast 15 minutes ago continues to show heavy snow showers from late tomorrow morning right through to Thursday evening.
