  1. Cheers for the info Daniel, I live about 7 miles down the road from Pom so I'd quite happily take your offerings!
  2. The wind is still howling out there, could be some great blizzards. The strong winds likely to push further inland so hopefully we all get a good hit .
  3. Looks like a DOE update for road network gritting. I think this could be our best snow this winter Pom.
  4. The long range forecast on BBC looks very good for most of Ireland on Friday night/Saturday. Will be interesting to see how far east the showers can penetrate. The last few warnings have been damp squibs.
  5. Looks like that heavy band is just skirting north of us Pom, although we might get the tail end of it. Haven't been following the weather as closely this past week so a nice bonus tonight ahead of, potentially, something more exciting at the weekend/next week.
  6. Drive in as low a gear as possible when driving downhill Drive in as high a gear as possible when moving uphill Avoid sharp braking and rapid acceleration and if you go into a skid tap the brakes instead of flooring it and turn into skid.
  7. Can't see that from Model thread, it appears that everything has gone tits up and the GFS has it more or less right all along. Anyway, stole this image from Barra Best on Facebook, pretty cool.
  8. My wife got me a drone for a wedding present in April (around the same price range). I can't recommend strongly enough to not fly it in windy conditions. Takes a good while to get hang of it and I managed to lose mine at the Gortin lakes above Omagh in the Sperrins in July just when I thought I got the hang of it. Below is a shot I got of my adopted home village of Loughmacrory. You can see the local GAA pitch in the background alongside the chapel we got married in.
  9. We did quite well yesterday/last night in Co. Tyrone. Met warning was for 10-15 cms above 150 metres (I'm at 170m) which didn't transpire anywhere across the country but we'll take what we can after the December dross!
  10. Nice wee covering here, although surprised to hear the a5 has been closed.
  11. Haha Born, I made a risky drive significantly riskier to satisfy my childish need to photo snow! Would you believe it, all ready for an evenings lamppost watching and the two nearest ones black out! Anyway here is the latest out the front of my house.
  12. Just getting home, hairy drive up Cookstown road out of Omagh!
  13. Very heavy snow on Drive from cookstown to Omagh. Snow lying well in my part of the world and around mountfield. Looking good for decent covering. Another line of heavy ppn moving from Donegal into Tyrone at the min.
  14. If you watch the radar on raintoday.co.uk you can see the showers intensifying as the move inland. I have always wondered what atmospheric conditions allow showers to maintain their ppn rates as the move deep inland whilst at other times showers running in from Atlantic disperse before they even reach the border!
  15. Showers over such a significant period of time will surely mean everyone will get some joy! Anyway, batten down the hatches, incoming snow!
  16. Will be driving over towards Creggan in half an hour will get a few snaps.
  17. Surprised to see no warning considering their forecast. We've had a couple of dud snow warnings recently which came out earlier than the projected snow today. Fingers crossed it comes off. Hopefully temps don't rise as fast today, their forecast is for it to peak at 2℃ for an hour or so this afternoon then plummet below freezing later In afternoon.
  18. Same problem Pom, dont know how to remove this quote box on mobile! Anyway, thought we might have fared better with this morning's ppn but temps rose quite quickly so had to make do with a light dusty on the school run. Tomorrow looks to be out best bet, BBC app showing continuous snow for my area from 2pm to after midnight. Really hope it doesn't turn into a sleety mess. I'm working in Cookstown tomorrow so could be a snowy drive home.
  19. Just had the same, light, shower pass through. This band of ppn will be moving east through the morning, hopefully conditions stay cold enough for it to stay as snow. I have to commute from home to Castlederg, over scraghey to Enniskillen and back today. Could be hairy enough if it stays as snow!
  20. Some very hefty showers passing through. If this was Wednesday or Thursday night we'd be getting some great accumulations of snow!
