  1. This morning's GFS runs appear to show the beginnings of the disappearing act. The 12 and 18z showed the front on Thursday/Friday rolling through Ireland into Britain but the 0 and 6z has it stalling off the west of Ireland now and sinking south to give Spain a pasting. Surprise surprise!
  2. Models starting to look very interesting from midweek on. Thursday night Into Friday could bring snow joy. No point getting excited just yet, though.
  3. If it's worth anything, last night in west N Ireland there appeared to be no chance of snow at 10.30pm, not in warning area and didn't feel (temp wise) anywhere close to snow. However, the colder air undercut very swiftly and by midnight the snow was falling and lying rapidly giving us a nice couple of cms this morning.
  4. BBC app telling me max temp on Sunday will be 7℃ falling to 3℃ at 6pm with snow for the rest of night. Taken with a healthy dose of salt though. On a more immediate note the met have issued a snow and ice warning (around 200metres) for all of N Ireland this evening/tonight.
  5. This will be an exciting thread on Sunday if (big 'if') this comes to pass...
  6. Making the most of a poor enough winter for my kids. No carrots so baby corn will have to do!
  7. None of the models were showing snow for us in Western Ulster but it's been snowing heavily here for last hour, lying well too. Perhaps a good omen for you guys in England?
  8. Rain had just turned to heavy snow here in central Tyrone
  9. Had given up on tonight but just checked out side and snow is really piling down. Grass is all white and road is starting to get a covering!
  10. Snow warning issued by met office for Antrim and Down tonight for higher ground (2-6cm) and possibly for lower levels as well.
  11. According to radar there seems to be an organised band of snow moving through NE of N Ireland at the minute.
  12. Some cool looking clouds/fog were rolling over the crest of Glenhordial mountain above Omagh earlier this evening. Could only catch it on my phone camera so didn't do it justice, very impressive sight.
  13. Band of ppn moving in from the west across Ulster. Could it give snow for us further inland? We'll find out shortly.
  14. Wasn't aware that snow was expected down the country today. Happy days! Radar seems very good for West Mayo/Roscommon at the minute. Any reports from that area?
  15. The ppn moving in looks interesting. We've got lying snow at the min, although is it starting to get less cold?
  16. That shower passed by us here BK. Lay quite well and is sticking around. Much colder tonight than I had anticipated. Looks like there's more beefy showers en route...
  17. What's the chances of snow this evening? Just heard reports that it was snowing back home recently and appears to be some beefy showers heading into the NW at the minute.
  18. Another epic blizzard just rolled through here, we're up to a couple of cms lying.
  19. Whaoo, just had the heaviest shower of the day, all snow had melted of the roads but that 15 min blast has Blanketed everything white again!
  20. Was hoping for better accumulations, however, it's been great getting regular snow showers coming through regularly. Some decent white outs as well in the mix. Ironically, the strong winds slam the showers through too quickly to allow significant accumulation. Anyway, hoping we keep the showers going into the night time and we are looking good for the foreseeable with decent PM shots on the way.
  21. Feeling much cooler outside and as you say Bomber good and dry with the strong winds. Looks like the fun and games about to begin shortly...
  22. Still very wet, would hope that temps drop off pretty quickly if we're to get snow around midnight.
