  1. Really surprised how much has settled here (Burbage). Not deep bit drifting. Super. Wind is howling! Like a film..... Might get some of that precip down south as well. Will keep an eye on that, could get quite grim
  2. Has been snowing here all day, lighter mostly but has got slightly heavier last half hour.Settling more as well. Not really tying up with radar but not expecting it to, these are funny conditions. Still -3 and windy too, interesting weather we have right now and not really predictable.
  3. tis snowing I think, might be imagining it and need to go back to bed.... -5c It windy with little bits of snow. Edit - it's actually picking up a bit.
  4. Light snow now in Hinckley (Burbage)??? Nothing close enough on radar. Encouraging! edit nope I am seeing things. Off to bed I reckon ?
  5. That precip out there does look heading SE more now, yes I am convinced On track for Leicester maybe laters?
  6. Cannot work out that shower activity on radar? Was moving NE ish but also appears now to go a bit SE? Am I seeing for things or wishful thinking? No complaints so far anyway, has been a good day weather wise and now down to -7!!
  7. Snow here in Derby (work). Quite a longish spell this. Settling in grass etc...
  8. -5c and just started v light snow. Nowt on radar? possibly some showers heading this way. Never say never
  9. Lol, maybe! Think Northants might benefit a bit. Is going to go South of me for sure?
  10. Is that a streamer set up thru the wash on radar? Matters not to me as it will miss anyway this beast is not playing nice!
  11. GFS Says for this afternoon: Not sure how well GFS handles this data and at short range. Obviously still needs those showers getting inland. To me if I was to interpret this into something more meaningful I would say chance of showers popping up anywhere in that pink region. I would not expect a white out or winter wonderland TBH. Anything heavier would simply be ace. EURO 4 showing precip as well for same time period. Nothing heavy. Lots of factors involved but no reason to write the next day or two off.
  12. -2 here. Light snow just starting. Beast does not guarantee snow but does increase risk of surprises! The cold is in place....
  13. Be really surprised if north of the region does not get a bit more snow overnight. A lot going on out NE in the North Sea, potentially more to come. Not your normal set up, might be wrong- let's see tomorrow
  14. Might be next for you, really heavy here now and blowing about. Settling too.
  15. gone darker just now and snow just kicking off here in Hinckley. Looks a bit more organised....
  16. -2c, light cloud with the odd bit of clear sky but snowing lightly being carried in the wind ahead.
  17. Yus!! The most eagerly anticipated pink blobs for a long time making landfall on the East coast. ? might the conditions have the potentially to intensify these showers a bit?
  18. Feeling the cold right now, just been out to bins- yikes bit of a shock! Proper even more cold -cold on its way overnight, will bite by tomoz
  19. Yes, 3 days under yellow warning now from Monday IMBY. MO see showers kicking off out east working their way inland Monday. Vague feeling further upgrades short term!
  20. sunny clear and still at 0c this morning. Heard people mention how cold it feels, this might be nothing compared to next week. Will be interesting to see the précis charts when closer to Monday/Tuesday!
  21. Cool, thanks for positing this! I missed this one for midlands in 91 but heard there was some good snowfall.
  22. Even if some of the synoptic data appearing gets watered down there will still be some v.cold weather next week. There is quite a buzz! But yes, with that comes also increased risks to folks. I mean look at that for Leicestershire 850's, it's like suddenly switching something off! Boom! down it goes!!
