  1. This could divide the country in more ways than one . West and East Wales . The people’s democratic republic of west wales .( PDRWW) The United States of East Wales.(USEW). Lets build that wall ! We will get the Irish in to do it - especially Irish rugby fans . Bridgend though would be an eerie no mans land . You can keep Carwyn and the assembly - strict border controls when you come down here in the summer . Damn we’ve only got Swansea airport though and that shed in Haverfordwest ... Lots to sort out . And all because the East stole snow from the West . We really should just live in peace . Andy I am coming over as a peace enjoy from the West but I will be demanding you give us our snow back . This is non negotiable .
  2. Steak and chips for East Wales with lashings of graaaaaaavy followed by mountains of pudding and custard mmmm pudding and custard . Houmous salad for the West with unlimitied celery sticks . For fffffk sake ?
  3. The orange warning has been largely cut back . Its most likely still just over swansea region to cover the fact the front will / could move marginally away from the forecast path. If on the edge of it then you need some luck . Much higher chance of very little on the periphery without that luck. Though still early days ...
  4. I don’t believe they are travelling . They are most likely actors that you will never see again . There for your entertainment. Think Truman show .
  5. Dry patch nightmares starting to come true. Its one of those occasions where you can look on in awe to the line of thick cloud in the distance and know that area is getting a pasting whilst nothing where you stand . Suppose Swansea is still paying back for that NNW event that dumped a good 4 inches in a very specific snow streamer locale - 2009 was it? We must have had that with an extortionate interest rate if still paying for it now . Ah well early days atm ....???
  6. Looking at the radar , the initial pulse of heavier precipitation can’t quite make it west of Pyle / Porthcawl .. Agonisingly close for further west but it could still change a bit . The sweet spot has been well forecast it would seem .
  7. Red Alert ? red alert ? damn just missed it here in Swansea good luck Cardiff though
  8. Andy what time are we having the steaks ? Its all kicked off a bit early . I like medium rare but your going to be inundated by everyone today so just make sure the steaks are sealed at least . ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
  9. Here we go - fast out the blocks this morning . A bonus early start . W, w , wait a minute ? Theres an intense blob heading to the dry patch? Oh my golly gosh I don’t think I will have to eat my bobble hat anymore . Stupid dry patch .
  10. Andy , I think you better get plenty of peppercorn sauce as those steaks will be flying down the graigerhorn for the next 3 days now . Medium rare please with 2 large eggs crispy white runny yolk but don’t burst it . The minor upgrades have started ...
  11. Upgrade upgrade ... Saturday now more likely to be a continuation of the blizzard . Small changes have turned a rainy Saturday into a snowy one for mor further south . Steak ? ? for everyone ?
  12. Stalling front to return back south ? Super Steve Murr seems to think so . This would be similar to historic events also . Wow could this really turn into that 3 day steak ? blizzard Andy foretold of .... Could this be the one time where Andy the king of all rampers with so many of those cheeky low res charts is actually out ramped by the weather itself ?
  13. Equally as interesting is where is Andy Music ?? Dont mind missing out to fellow countrymen in the snow depth game so long as it stays mainly in wales .
  14. 15:1 ratio due to the type of snow yes . Though if your in the dry patch 15:1 of nothing equals nothing . Although I think I have worked it out now . The dry patch that is . The charts have been showing lying snow yes .... But as it is so windy none of it can settle in the dry patch hence no lying snow . It will just be blowing around in the air - 30cm of snow whizzing around the dry patch , green grass but nothing settling . Wow ,how cool would that be . Would probably need to wear a mask ?, perhaps swimming goggles too and ear muffs just because of elf and safety ... Either that or the “lying “ snow because it is “ lying “ isn’t going to be where it says so. Lying cheating snow .
  15. Baby steps but we are not a million miles away from retaining the cold / colder conditions Saturday - Sunday . Is the cold fighting back ....... Another shower in Swansea ,looks magical. First proper snow viewed under the modern LED street lighting . Its clearer but not as good as the traditional orange glow .
  16. That is hideous . I hope I never have to see such a ridiculous chart ever again . But imagine how the Llandoverians are feeling ? If I was a llandoverian I would be absolutely furious . That dry curve all around them . Do we have any furious Llanoverrians in here ?
  17. Well everything has quickly turned white . A good centimetre just now and Swansea gets to join in the fun at last . Shame it will dry out tomorrow in the driest of dry patches .
  18. What the ffff hell - the precip shifts west and STILL that dry patch persists in the same damn area . Somebody up there in model land is absolutely adamant that Swansea will remain green . The front moves east - then west then south then north , it moves up down sideways / diagonal ways , spins around , hops on one leg and it even moves like the lifts in willy wonkas chocolate factory yet the dry patch doesn’t budge one bluddy bit. It’s so dry I think maybe this year I may cultivate some fine Swansea wine — those Tawe grapes grow in very arid climate dont you know . I expect a disappointing 2-3 inches ( disappointing in the context of the fever pitch build up ) yet so long as I can make my daughters first snowman that will suffice . Still time for a further shift east or west or north or south or left or right etc .
  19. No no no too late now , models consistently showing a West Wales dry patch so that is what we will get. Im not having it now as this has been consistently modelled . As it is going to be dry and very green, I am hosting a fancy dress spring tea party . Dress code is a mixture of St Davids day and Alice in wonderland . The gazebo is going up later this afternoon and that is that . Fully expecting Andy to turn up as a mad hatter although as he is East Wales then he will be under 50cm of snow so probably won’t be able to make ( Andy it’s ok - I understand ). Obviously this party will only be for folk from the dry patch ,as no one else will be able to travel through 50 cm of snow . I will be eating my dry bobble hat at the party as it will be completely dry in the dry patch . There will also be no drink at the dry party , where everything will be just dry dry flipping dry.
  20. This is quite remarkable in its own right . That Swansea to Carmarthen area and north - north west somehow manages to avoid getting any snow whatsoever in a full on frontal type storm event . I can understand a large variation but this is just plain ridiculous . If that snow chart is right I will eat my bobble hat . Lol Swansea 0-1 cm - Cardiff HALF A METRE . In footballing terms this is like the final score being ........Swansea 0 Cardiff 9 with Swansea hitting the bar and post 15 -20 times , having 6 goals ruled as offside , Cardiff committing a dozen blatant red card offences ,and probably having a worse ref than that referee from escape to victory .... remember Peles overhead kick ... wow and Ossie dribbling , proper film ... I digress . That dry area is really infuriating now but it cannot be right surely .....
  21. RIP Andy’s dad . I’m sure he would be happy that Cardiff should wupp Swansea’s bottom in the snow depth game .
  22. Hmmm so frontal snowfall gets all the way up to North Wales before it hits Pembrokeshire , Carmarthenshire and Swanseashire ? That must be one hell of a mild sector - it’s been the most consistently modelled thing so far this cold snap . I think it will be more evenly spread as opposed to zilch and 40 cm . Were this to be streamers then I would agree with the charts .. Cardiff likely to trounce Swansea in the snow depth battle on this occasion - does that mean Swansea will still get relegated to be replaced by Cardiff ? On that basis though Merthyr Tydfil would be in the champions league . Just viewed bbc forecast now and I can see now how the models are showing what they are . Yes , West Wales 3-4 inches East 12+ . So long as I can make ny daughters first ever snowman that will do me !
  23. Don’t get stuck in that hole again Andy. Sure it was you who got your Volvo stuck in a hole during the dec 2010 event ??
  24. This is the only reason I could think of also as there is a really big difference in what is predicted for Carmarthen - Swansea - Cardiff .( 1-2, 2-3, 8-12 inches respectively ) A big difference even from Bridgend to Cardiff. Now if this was rain would it be so different ? Considering all areas are slap bang in the amber zone and with frontal snowfall ,I can’t see the difference being so vast . Higher ground yes but as much as what is being shown for lower ground - no . This has also been shown fairly consistently so can anyone with more knowledge on this explain ? .
