  1. One thing I am not keen on is you get a notification not only if someone quotes you but also if they indicate a like or dislike. Can you turn that element off? I am only interested in being notified if someone actually comments on one of my posts.
  2. Seem to now get email notifications concerning postings. Not particularly concerned but nicer if it was in webpage. So if you don’t like them check out your settings for notifications.
  3. Found no problems so far using an iPad and Safari. It looks all neater and tidier.
  4. In one of my rooms temp 20.9c and humidity 55%. As for the accuracy of the readings I cannot say as every thermometer in the house read something different when brought together. Our oil fired boiler is programmed to come on at 7.30am and off at 9.00am. Then on again at 4.30pm and off at 9.00pm. Have a wall thermostat currently set to 20c. Also have thermostatic radiator valves that are adjusted to suit the usage of individual rooms If anyone feels cold they can turn the wall or rad thermostats up a bit if boiler is on. Alternatively give a boost for an hour or advance the on time.
  5. Nice having something that doesn’t include that blooming Virus and the weather on occasions.
  6. Got some from Tesco’s in the end at £21.67. Sloes washed dried and frozen loose. Freezing helps get the flavour out. Probably why the old advice was pick after the first frost.
  7. Was Dominic there checking out the snow?
  8. The interesting thing to watch was as the ice broke up as the thaw arrived was seeing some brave (idiots) souls floating down the river on the ice flow.
  9. Think it was winter 62/63 that I rode my bike down the ice on the River Can to Chelmsford’s town centre.
  10. Water under the bridge as far as I am concerned. Hey ho onwards and upwards!
  11. If there was snow we would all be getting happily cold and wet on our toboggans outside enjoying it. Chance and fat come to mind.
  12. So why come over as less than sympathetic. I am sure many on here have horrendous problems to deal with but they are very controlled and discreet about it.
  13. Oh for goodness sake give it a rest. Who has said you are a bad guy??? Seems you have far more problems than your parents do.
  14. I am sure they love you whatever. Not trying to be critical but just show there are things to consider.
  15. Remember your quote when you are their age. A little bit of sympathy goes a long way to keep your older, nearest and dearest happy. When you are less active, than what you recall in past times, that is when feeling cold kicks in. Apart from other reasons. Was out today picking sloes for sloe gin. Must admit it felt a bit chilly. But as I am well hard I continued with just wearing a shirt. Wish I had taken a jacket with me too be honest. Now the next problem is to find some decent cheap gin. At the end of the day why, if you have the ability to keep yourself comfortably warm, be a “hero” and keep everything cold?
  16. If you feel the cold switch it on is my view.
  17. Lesser of two evils. Happy wife or miserable one. Too be honest I increasingly feel the cold the older I get.
  18. Son in law got a nice photo of water spout forming off Southwold.
  19. What wind gauge do you use. One like this? The angle of hanging indicates the wind speed.
  20. To be honest so far it has been a bit of a cry wolf day weather wise.
