  1. Mine is showing 67°c but I’m measuring the chicken I’m cooking. Just about right.
  2. High elevations round here is me going to my bedroom on the first floor. So I’m not expecting too much.
  3. Nothing here of interest other than it is going to be blooming unpleasant getting stuff down tonight to the front for recycling tomorrow.
  4. Yes the “snow” that was suggested seems very transparent at the moment. Having said that I wasn’t expecting anything. Really love to be proved wrong over the coming hours.
  5. It does make me wonder why look at the models if at most ranges they seem to change quite considerably. They all show variations on a theme with the results for them being a bit of a scatter gun affect. Are they any better than the headlines in the Express where they might be right on one or two occasions? Or is it a case of those making posts about the potential for snow being good is because they are cherry picking and not looking at the overall picture? Just a thought.
  6. Is this yet another year for so much hype but so little action? Difficult to be positive from previous years experiences. Really hope my pessimism is proved to totally wrong. Got my skis ready.
  7. Be kind. Probably just a nice distraction from all that horrible stuff.
  8. I look at this thread every year. Quite happy to caught up with the excitement. How does this year’s prognosis compare with others at this time of the year in recent times? So often much enthusiasm at the start of the winter when sadly later on it is often a matter what if or what could have been. Then where is my therapist. Is anyone brave enough to take a punt at us having a cold winter of note? Bookmakers have reduced the odds for a white Christmas I believe.
  9. Yes obviously God decided Thurrock should be included with Tier 1.
  10. Cold and slightly misty here after a good frost. Pity the sun hasn’t come out as it would have been lovely and warm in my greenhouse.
  11. Find Jerusalem artichokes very wind producing. As you will, I assume, be following Covid recommendations I expect you will have all your windows thrown open. So that might help if you are similarly affected. http://www.stuff.co.nz//sics-assets/images/favicons/favicon.ico Fighting the fartichoke effect: Wind-diminishing ways to prepare artichokes | Stuff.co.nz WWW.STUFF.CO.NZ Jerusalem artichokes are delicious, nutritious - but often have an unfortunate...
  12. Getting quite foggy here now and a bit chilly. Will be a demand for the heating to go on at this rate.
  13. What is considered to be the most consistent and accurate model as far as output is concerned? If you had to rely on just one what would it be? Is there any review of accuracy concerning the various outputs provided?
  14. Yes I remember just after Christmas very well. Was made redundant. Hey ho. It has and will happen to many.
  15. Nature has a habit of showing everyone is wrong. On the whole snow is problematic in UK because of where we are.
  16. Been trying to find webcams in areas where the ice growth is. Unsurprisingly there doesn’t seem to be any. Does anyone have a source. Could find a few on west side of Greenland. Looks cold.
  17. What could be the reason for a loss in area outlined in yellow? Can understand the reasons on the periphery but less so in this location.
  18. Yes my concern as well. Nice as it is to have someone supporting your posting or not all I am interested in is knowing if someone has posted a comment that may or may not need a response.
