  1. UKV is showing some patches of 31c on Saturday across the E/SE this morning....as well as what look like some massive storms pushing up from the south. Also looking very warm or hot on Sunday with more storms. Still personally think that's a bit high and that something more like 28c could be the actual max.
  2. Definitely not clearing anything like as extensively as models have shown. Not sure why it's extra persistent in this episode? Can't believe how much is still around at 1:30pm
  3. I'm new to clagaholics anonymous. I thought I could manage alone, but feel overwhelmed at the amount of clag I've had to endure the last few weeks. A bit of counselling with like minded individuals who have had similar experiences to me should help me to cope. The trauma stems from having to put up with temps of 13c in summer and still wearing jumpers and coats.
  4. Bit of an extreme chart here! First 30c in the reliable time frame of the year show in East Anglia....but 14c in Mid Wales at the same time. UKV could be off on one here, its still 4 days away. If 850s do get up to 15c then 30c is certainly possible. One to watch.
  5. How about probably half of the population who haven't had much other than grey skies and north sea filth to contend with for most of the last few weeks? Everyone on the south coast and in western extremities has hit the jackpot recently. Absolutely glorious.
  6. What a dreadful looking satellite. Can't believe how far west this cloud is getting....I expect to suffer here, but getting right into most of Wales is mad. Those who have the sun already & those who will see some sun out west as it burns away enjoy yourselves....we will suffer another miserable day here. 13c at 11am, awful for summer.
  7. The difference between 2018 and now is the centre of the high is a few hundred miles in the wrong place! At least in 2018 the excellent weather was far more widespread. It's been a remarkably static pattern for a long time though, southern Europe has been absolutely slammed with rain while we've had this high pressure for weeks on end.
  8. I don't really like storms a great deal, but even I'm looking forward to perhaps a bit of instability coming in the next week after this has been stuck on repeat for weeks now. Warmer, more humid, and potentially some nice storms in the mix. A lot of areas in need of a soaking now too, so a bit of rain wouldn't go amiss.
  9. After a lovely few days here, we're back to the grey filth again. Yuck. Hopefully not much longer to go and this pattern that has been stuck for weeks will shift a bit. Still potentially looking very warm into next weekend.
  10. Sure is….just need to firm up on the details over the coming days, but the first proper blast of heat could be around the corner, and the ghastly NE winds could finally be gone!
  11. What a chart this is….can’t say you’d see this too often. The only dry spot in Europe circling the UK!
  12. Best run of the year so far if warmth is your thing….ECM showing some actual widespread warm weather at day 7-10 as we finally lose that pesky NE wind. It’ll be nice to feel the breeze and not think it’s April any more!
  13. Don’t have to go back too far….Brooms Barn in Suffolk went 52 days without any rain in 2018!
  14. Further proof that only the nutters on this forum are with the minority in thinking winter is the best season, when clearly we all know that it’s summer
  15. Not sure about warm….it’s only showing temps up to around 22-23c in the west or Ireland again. Mid to high teens for most, with cloud off the North Sea covering large swathes of the country overnight. Will all depend on how much it burns back. West continuing to fare the best for the next 7-10 days.
  16. We’ve even had some drizzle overnight the cloud has been that thick
  17. ECM continues the theme…dreadful in the east and feeling more like April than June. Best of the conditions out west, temps similar to now. Nudging over 21c in the best spots, 12-14c Near Eastern coasts.
  18. At least you’ve got the sun….it’s bloody windy here, and just grey and cold. With no change on the models tonight we could potentially see very little sun here.
  19. Haven’t had any really warm air masses yet that’s all. Everything has just been off the E/NE. Nothing really southerly based, which we need early in the year to boost temps.
  20. These persistent low pressure and associated rainfall anomalies across southern Europe are really exceptional. Yet more serious flooding issues on the horizon over the next couple of weeks.
  21. Looks lovely. We've had some nice days down here, but also suffered a bit at times with the easterly winds.....today being one of those days. Still under the murk and only 16c, feeling quite cool. The west (and SW in particular) has had an exceptionally sunny run of weather. Lucky sods!
  22. Absolute stunner again today. Vibes of 2018 recently with the clear skies and low humidity. 20c feels great in this. Give me a whole summer of this and I’d be more than happy!
  23. Thanks for the updates Tamara. I have a tiny fraction of your knowledge, and just see a big Greenland block building in the mid term and fear the worst that it gets locked in for weeks and wrecks the summer. Hoping as you say it should get scrubbed out fairly quickly on this occasion and not stick around for a long time.
  24. Still looking very dry, but a real 'west is best' situation coming up, with high pressure situated to the west of the UK - this drags in cool easterly winds off the cold north sea, which will really suppress temperatures in the eastern half of the country. Could only be low teens near the coast, and mid teens at best inland here...out west and towards Ireland with shelter, temps could climb above 20c. The more concerning thing for me this morning is this ECM day 10 chart. Enormous Greenland block setting up just as we head into June, which is usually bad news if you like summer warmth like I do.
  25. If we're allowed to pick....the yellow one at the top please!
