    Another very useable Summers Sunday, nice breeze, sunshine coming and going, bit of patchy drizzle at first but not bad at all. Only had a few Sundays this season when outside activities were curtailed. Can't complain at all.

    I agree, that week on my travels every single person was saying the say thing, heat and humidity was not liked as far as the folk i meet with. And that experience covered approx 2/3rds of England and Wales. Can't comment on Scotland as i wasn't there.

    Hand on my heart with the travelling i do for work i would say 75% of the UK has had reasonable summer, not a great one i admit if prolonged heat is your love but for the UK as a whole not the horror show so many are painting.

    That is probably true but a lot of the UK has had a decent if average summer, no horror show, rain below average, sunshine average. So overall not a bad summer away from the south coastal areas which is the inverse of most summers, that's the only reason so many are complaining i suspect

    I would say calling this Summer a horror show for many northern parts may be pushing it a fair bit. On the whole its not been bad with plenty sunshine and reasonable temps. No weeks of heatwave i agree but this is the UK, we have had a normal summer in many places.

    Yep i was right, there is vastly more moaning in the Summer thread than the Winter one!....very interesting.

    Its purely objective and personal a view on weather don't forget. Some like it hot, some don't like it hot. Acceptable weather is a individual's opinion. Nobody is right and nobody is wrong either.

    Really found this Summer to be comfortable, great for working in. August hasn't been bad at all really, nothing to hot but also nothing to cold, coupled with low rain fall so all in all not bad at all. The remainder of the month looks much the same so more than happy. Bring on those Autumn days now!

    ...you forget the light levels. Also Autumn in the South equates to a normal UK Summer in the North!

    We shall see, we shall see....old mother nature will keeps us waiting what ever, that's what makes weather so interesting! I'll keep praying anyway! Warm low 20's fine, uncomfortable 25c plus plume with humidity it brings not so good. Autumn is certainly my season, just feels so right with the temps and light levels.

    As Summer trundles towards it's end the prospect of the best season of the year approaches. Also good to see the chances of a bad plume event are slowly being chipped away before the end of August.
