  1. Stunning supermoon last night, also some models have amped up the thunderstorm risk from Sunday evening to early hours of Wednesday, probably why the Met has issued a thunderstorm warning.
  2. UKV 03z remains with the storm theme and even amps up the activity a little more, with things starting to destabilise on Sunday afternoon/evening with scattered showers/thunderstorms breaking out over England/East Wales and more so Scotland, NW England gets a chance overnight Sunday, Then Monday looks very interesting with potentially intense thunderstorms over England of Wales and that risk then remains until overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, by this time most of the country has seen rain, including the SE. Still not to be taken literally though, but the theme seems good enough to be confident that thunderstorms and intense downpours will develop.
  3. This event is looking more likely of producing something more than the July event, so that's something to be a little hopeful of at this stage
  4. A few snaps for Monday from the UKV, looking good, even a few storms for the SE. A few days still to go though so not to be taken as gospel.
  5. This has been showing for a couple days now on the 10 day forecast, but today is the most active its shown so far. The UKV is showing some pretty organised storms and other models are showing similar with some decent instability from Monday. Obviously still a few days out but its looking good as the storm theme continues.
  6. Looks like we have just hit 37c here. Cant believe its still going up this late. Definitely a sign that the even hotter uppers are coming in.
  7. Hovering around 36.5 here. Pretty sure that's a new record here locally.
  8. I agree, especially with a fan on so you get the cooler air circulating inside without escaping and being overtook by the high temperatures.
  9. This thread is for anyone worried about extreme heat. A place to offer advice and suggestion's for all on how to prepare for it and how to cope a little better once its here. A few from myself here; Having a fan (possibly place a thin cold damp towel or cloth over it so it blows out cooler air into the room) Keep hydrated Cold/cool shower Being in a pool (don't get burned as UV will be high) Don't take pets on long walks and make sure they have plenty of water too, and watch out for very hot surfaces. Grass will be okay. Try your best to not do strenuous activities especially outdoors but also in non air conditioned areas.
  10. Wow, was at work during the start of all this. Might of saw it closer being NW of you.
  11. Been checking it occasionally to see how things are looking and developing, always good to check as they always come close or hit up this end a little while after when things are coming in from the South, SSW . Looking dark on there now.
  12. Could be some flooding problems in SE Wales with all this still to come, and after what has already fallen.
  13. @Arnie Pie another cell exploding, would of been amazing to see the convection going up if your stream was working, like you said sods law lol.
  14. Confirmed, just had a brief torrential downpour with several rumbles and 1 visible flash
  15. Yeah just to the West of us though, unless things develop just a bit further East which it just might be doing .
  16. Caught this low cloud base on Tuesday before the thunderstorm came over.
