  1. No change for Sunny Sheffield a mild night keeping the average the same. Suspect no change for CET either.
  2. Sunday and Monday show the first Autumn storm and the first strong winds to hit the country for sometime. GFS seems to be strengthening the storm at the moment. There could be some lively gusts across southern Scotland and northern England Sunday before it gets really nasty early into Monday for Scotland and North Eastern England before it moves away into the north sea. Should also be some white stuff for the Scottish hills as well. Plenty of time for downgrades yet though.
  3. A mild dull damp start to the day. Temp 12C Barometer 1018mb steady Wind Calm Rainfall since midnight 0.6mm
  4. Another cool day and a rather wet late afternoon. Max temp 15.2C Now 12.9C Barometer 1019mb falling Wind f2 WNW Rainfall 2.8mm
  5. Welcome Boywonder. Our own weather stations which maybe electronic or traditional or a combination of both.
  6. Which explains why I find them to warm as do a few other people. Downstairs is a nice 16.4C to 17C mission control at 18.6C with a nice breeze going through.
  7. No update on the CET value. Sunny Sheffield dropped to 14.1C + 0.4C above 81-10 average. Night-time was milder than I expected.
  8. 20.5c blimey far to warm. I'd have the windows open to cool the place down.
  9. A mild start to the day. Mostly cloudy high level cloud with sunny spells Temp 13.3C Barometer 1022mb steady Wind F2 WNW Rainfall Nil
  10. Warmest part of the day so far. Sun now coming back out again after a cloudy cold afternoon with the odd spot of rain until just after three. Max temp so far 14.3C Barometer 1020 falling Wind F3 WNW Rainfall Trace.
  11. A cold day so far with light rain just moving into the area Max temp so far 13.4C Barometer 1020mb rising Wind F3 W Rainfall Trace
  12. Sunny Sheffield still plunging now down 14.3C after a cooler than forecast night. Today looks another cold day so another plunge by tomorrow probably around 13.9C to 14C getting close to end of September average.
  13. A cool start to day with high level cloud meaning fading weak hazy sunshine. Temp 11C Barometer 1020 Rising Wind F3 NNW Rainfall since midnight nil
  14. If I remember correctly the forecast for the change over was very much underplayed. Today of course we would be receiving our last rights. What I do remember the evening it started the orange neon glare of an approaching shower then strong winds and heavy snow then all quiet again then half n hour later the same again. Next morning the temperature was 19F strong winds and frequent heavy snow showers. The snow so fine it blew through the gaps in the windows and made drifts within the secondary glazing. The side of the house facing the wind and showers was covered in ice. The showers moved so quickly it was possible to have a clear sky then minutes later another blizzard. Temps that day peaked at 21F and rose slowly as the week went on. A classic wintry spell which hasn't really been matched since.
  15. A cool day once more with brief isolated heavy showers becoming more prolonged late afternoon. No thunder but some hail later. At present they are showers in the region and one or two sunny spells. Max temp 15.7C Barometer 1015mb rising Wind f2 WNW Rainfall 2.4mm
  16. Well the last shower got the rainfall up to 2.4mm peak rate 100mm per hour.
  17. Heavy Shower right now a little hail no thunder or lightning that'll be for Chesterfield and Dronfield no doubt.
  18. Only trace conditions here so far. Sheffield shield doing it's normal job.
  19. A storm to the North East of us or Thundery shower otherwise Sheffield shield holding very well just allowing short light to moderate showers through. Radar showing plenty of shower build up but we need some some sun to get them temps up to provide more fuel.
  20. Temperatures going up very rapidly. Now 13.7C rising at +2c an hour. Looking like a pleasant dry Sunny day coming up.
  21. A cold start to the day with patchy high cloud and sunny spells Cool Temp 8.2C Barometer 1015mb rising Wind Calm Rainfall Nil
  22. Another cold but so far dry day with Sunny spells and light winds. Max temp 16.1C Barometer 1015mb steady Wind F2 SW Rainfall nil
  23. After a cool day yesterday and a very cold night Sunny Sheffield down to 14.8C +1.1C above normal.
  24. El Hierro is still twitching gently away. Whether this is just the island settling back down after the magma intrusion or magma still trying to get to the surface time will tell.
