  2. Report for Monday 27th June 2005, Readings taken at 23:50. A day with completely clear skies from start to finish. After a cool start the temperature increased rapidly, peaking in the late afternoon at a very warm 25.9°C. It felt very pleasant, in part due to the low humidity levels and also due to a light south-easterly breeze. At present the temperature is falling quickly once more due to the clear sky and lack of wind. Overall, just the kind of summer weather I like, hot days and cool nights. Current Temp: 13.4°C Max Temp: 25.9°C (at 16:07) Min Temp: 9.1°C (at 05:02) Humidity: 78% Min Humidity: 39% (at 15:15) Pressure: 1020.7hPa (Steady) Dewpoint: 9.6°C Wind: ENE (Calm) Rain Today: 0.0mm My June average currently stands at 16.0°C (+1.9°C Above the 1971-2000 average).

  4. Report for Sunday 26th June 2005, Readings taken at 00:00. An almost totally clear day. There was a little cloud around earlier but this burnt off completely. It was also fairly warm and with the low humidity and a light breeze it felt very pleasant. It is currently clear and the temperature is dropping as it did last night, so another cooler night in store. Temperatures overall were just a tad above average for June, so the monthly average remains unaffected. Current Temp: 10.8°C Max Temp: 21.1°C (at 10:30) Min Temp: 10.6°C (at 04:59) Humidity: 79% Min Humidity: 48% (at 14:43) Pressure: 1025.8hPa (Steady) Dewpoint: 7.3°C Wind: SSE (Calm) Rain Today: 0.0mm My June average currently stands at 16.0°C (+1.9°C Above the 1971-2000 average).
  5. Report for Saturday 25th June 2005, Readings taken at 23:20. A rather cloudy and gloomy day with a chilly north-easterly wind. For the majority of the day it remained dry, but it did occasionally drizzle a little, though not amounting to much. It was considerably cooler than of late, only reaching a maximum of 17.6°C, a huge 12.5°C lower than Thursday. Due to a rather high minimum however, the June average temperature remains unaffected at 16°C, still well above average. Current Temp: 12.2°C Max Temp: 17.6°C (at 13:41) Min Temp: 12.2°C (Current) Humidity: 80% Min Humidity: 67% (at 18:51) Pressure: 1025.9hPa (Rising) Dewpoint: 8.7°C Wind: NE (4mph) Rain Today: 0.5mm My June average currently stands at 16.0°C (+1.9°C Above the 1971-2000 average).
  6. Report for Friday 24th June 2005, Readings taken at 23:00. A complete contrast to yesterday and the first day with any measurable rain in the last 8. The morning started off bright and sunny before cloud quickly approached from the west. It then bucketed it down for around an hour and remained overcast with occasional drizzle into the mid-afternoon. The sun did threaten to come through later but the evening saw more drizzle arrive before turning misty. Due to the cold front coming over the maximum temperature was reached in the morning, but it was still a relatively warm day allowing my June average to hit the magic 16°C. However, with typical North-Sea-derived gloom expected here tomorrow, that will no doubt take a knock. Current Temp: 15.3°C Max Temp: 22.9°C (at 10:10) Min Temp: 14.1°C (at 05:11) Humidity: 90% Min Humidity: 60% (at 09:44) Pressure: 1015.6hPa (Falling) Dewpoint: 13.7°C Wind: N (6mph) Rain Today: 4.6mm My June average currently stands at 16.0°C (+1.9°C Above the 1971-2000 average).
  7. Report for Thursday 23rd June 2005, Readings taken at 23:00. A hot and sunny day, with suprisingly high temperatures and low humidity. The sunshine remained unbroken for the whole day, with a little cloud around 5pm that has since disappeared leaving a clear evening. Humidity also reached the lowest level I have ever seen in my time of recording - 33%, amazing considering I am only 10 miles from the North Sea coast. The maximum temperature was also the hottest since 6th August 2003, beating last Sunday's value by 0.6°C. Another record was also set last night, for the first time ever it was 20.0°C at midnight. The June average is also moving ever upward, very close now to the 16°C mark, in the last 10 days it has risen by 2.6°C! Current Temp: 19.6°C Max Temp: 30.1°C (at 15:46) Min Temp: 16.1°C (at 05:34) Humidity: 68% Min Humidity: 33% (at 17:05) Pressure: 1014.9hPa (Steady) Dewpoint: 13.5°C Wind: SE (2mph) Rain Today: 0.0mm My June average currently stands at 15.9°C (+1.8°C Above the 1971-2000 average).
  8. Current Conditions on Thursday 23rd June 2005, Readings taken at 14:45. I cant believe how hot it is here today, so far the temperature has Sunday beaten by 0.4°C! It is sunny with low humidity aswell, lovely. Current Temp: 29.9°C Humidity: 41% Pressure: 1015.3hPa (Falling) Dewpoint: 15.2°C Wind: WSW (7mph)
  9. Report for Wednesday 22nd June 2005, Readings taken at 00:00. Another wonderful day, with almost unbroken sunshine. There was a little cloud about in the afternoon but this didnt really affect anything. Temperatures were also much higher than expected, reaching 28.5°C - only a degree down on sunday. The temperature has also refused to fall, still being 26.0°C at 8Pm and for the first time ever in my records, 20.0°C at midnight. Humidity was also relatively low today, meaning it felt pleasant despite the high temperature. Due to temperatures eing so high recently, my June average is now 1.5°C above normal. Interestingly, this current hot spell is not all that far off the August 2003 one temperature-wise here, another 2 days above 25°C should make it just about equal. Current Temp: 20.0°C Max Temp: 28.5°C (at 15:39) Min Temp: 12.9°C (at 04:16) Humidity: 73% Min Humidity: 46% (at 16:52) Pressure: 1017.9hPa (Steady) Dewpoint: 15.0°C Wind: S (Calm) Rain Today: 0.0mm Rain This Month: 26.5mm My June average currently stands at 15.6°C (+1.5°C Above the 1971-2000 average).
  10. Report for Tuesday 21st June 2005, Readings taken at 23:55. A mostly sunny day with patchy cloud and a light westerly breeze. It was slightly cooler than the last few days which meant along with much the lower humidity it felt very pleasant indeed. At present it is clear and slowly cooling down, but the humidity is still low so tonight should be relatively comfortable. My June 2005 average is quickly rising still and with the upcoming second warm spell it could still end up the warmest June on record. Current Temp: 15.4°C Max Temp: 23.4°C (at 14:48) Min Temp: 13.5°C (at 03:13) Humidity: 66% Min Humidity: 49% (at 19:29) Pressure: 1020.4hPa (Rising) Dewpoint: 9.0°C Wind: NNW (Calm) Rain Today: 0.0mm My June average currently stands at 15.4°C (+1.3°C Above the 1971-2000 average).

  12. Report for Monday 20th June 2005, Readings taken at 23:45. Another very hot and sunny day. Like yesterday there was a light south-easterly breeze and some mist, but with humidity a little lower it felt a lot more pleasant. With the last 4 days all having temperatures above 25.9°C it has been the most consistently warm spell since August 2003. Last night also saw a minimum of 17.5°C making it the warmest June night since I started recording. At present it is mostly clear with the temperature gradually dropping. Although it is still very mild, a much more pleasant night looks in store. After another hot day, my June average is now over a degree over the 1971-2000 value. Current Temp: 15.6°C Max Temp: 26.3°C (at 12:20) Min Temp: 15.6°C (Current) Humidity: 76% Min Humidity: 52% (at 13:09) Pressure: 1016.0hPa (Steady) Dewpoint: 11.4°C Wind: SE (Calm) Rain Today: 0.0mm My June average currently stands at 15.2°C (+1.1°C Above the 1971-2000 average).
  13. Yesterday's 29.5°C temperature is the highest maximum I have ever recorded in June, beating the previous 27.0°C by some margin.
  14. Report for Sunday 19th June 2005, Readings taken at 00:00. A wonderfully hot day, the highest maximum since August 10th 2003. The temperature last night fell a little lower than the previous, but by 9am it was already 25°C. It was a mostly sunny day, but plagued by mist. From mid-afternoon cloud built and it threatened to rain, only for the showers to completely miss this location, despite areas both 10 miles to the north and south getting a thorough soaking. It is currently hot and humid, looking very uncomfortable for sleeping (28.0°C Inside temperature). With another day well above the expected values of June, the average temperature is now fast approaching 1°C above the long term average. Current Temp: 19.0°C Max Temp: 29.5°C (at 13:36) Min Temp: 14.1°C (at 05:13) Humidity: 82% Min Humidity: 59% (at 14:15) Pressure: 1012.8hPa (Falling) Dewpoint: 15.8°C Wind: N (Calm) Rain Today: 0.0mm My June average currently stands at 14.9°C (+0.8°C Above the 1971-2000 average).
  15. Report for Saturday 18th June 2005, Readings taken at 23:40. Today started off pretty much like yesterday, with cloudy skies and extremely high humidity. Temperatures increased quickly after a very mild night (minimum 17.0°C), but it took until mid-afternoon to top 25°C. After around 4pm, the sky cleared allowing some sunshine but staying relatively misty throughout. Despite very high humidity, it felt a little more pleasant compared to yesterday due to a moderate south-easterly wind from the direction of the North Sea. It was a tad cooler than yesterday, but the combination of a high minimum and maximum for the time of year means my June average is half a degree above the 1971-2000 value now. Current Temp: 16.8°C Max Temp: 25.8°C (at 15:20) Min Temp: 16.8°C (Current) Humidity: 85% Min Humidity: 68% (at 17:21) Pressure: 1020.5hPa (Steady) Dewpoint: 14.2°C Wind: SE (7mph) Rain Today: 0.0mm My June average currently stands at 14.6°C (+0.5°C Above the 1971-2000 average).
  16. Report for Friday 17th June 2005, Readings taken at 23:45. A mostly cloudy day, but very hot and humid. The cloud did break after around 6pm to give some sunshine, but in high humidity it felt sticky and oppressive. With a maximum temperature today of 26.0°C, it was the hottest day since 8th August 2004. Likewise, the minima was the highest since September 10th 2004. A very mild night ahead aswell, at 10pm the temperature was still 21.0°C. As a result of the hot temperatures my June average is now equal to the 1971-2000 value, making up a definct of 0.8°C in only 4 days! With the hot spell forecast to continue well into Monday, it looks like June will end up as another well above average month. Current Temp: 19.6°C Max Temp: 26.0°C (at 14:43) Min Temp: 14.3°C (at 05:02) Humidity: 79% Min Humidity: 63% (at 14:54) Pressure: 1026.7hPa (Steady) Dewpoint: 15.7°C Wind: N (Calm) Rain Today: 0.0mm My June average currently stands at 14.1°C (Equal to the 1971-2000 average).
  17. Current Conditions on Friday 17th June 2005, Readings taken at 00:10. Clear skies, but very warm and humid, looks like a very sleepness night coming up. Current Temp: 16.4°C Humidity: 85% Pressure: 1017.2hPa (Rising) Dewpoint: 13.8°C Wind: SW (2mph)
  18. Report for Thursday 16th June 2005, Readings taken at 00:00. A mostly cloudy day with nothing much in the way of sunshine or showers, the first dry day since last friday. The temperature increased gradually as the warmer air arrived and with dewpoints as high as 17°C it felt very muggy. This evening has seen clearer skies, but temperatures have stayed high while the humidity has risen making it feel very uncomfortable indeed. There was a strong southerly wind earlier moderating the temperature, but this has since lightened aswell. With a high of 22.7°C and minimum of 12.3°C just after midnight, it was above average for June. As expected, the average for the month increased accordingly. Current Temp: 16.5°C Max Temp: 22.7°C (at 17:47) Min Temp: 12.3°C (at 00:33) Humidity: 85% Min Humidity: 60% (at 10:45) Pressure: 1017.1hPa (Rising) Dewpoint: 13.9°C Wind: SSW (2mph) My June average currently stands at 13.7°C (-0.4°C Below the 1971-2000 average).
  19. Current Conditions on Thursday 16th June 2005, Readings taken at 15:00. Mostly cloudy skies with a moderate southerly breeze. No sun yet today, but no rain either. The first day without rain since Friday. Current Temp: 21.0°C Humidity: 71% Pressure: 1013.6hPa (Falling) Dewpoint: 15.5°C Wind: SSW (14mph)
  20. Report for Wednesday 15th June 2005, Readings taken at 00:00. A mostly cloudy and dry start gave way to thicker cloud with light showers in the afternoon and temperatures staying fairly cool. By around 5pm it become dry once again and skies cleared allowing some sunshine. With clearing skies, the maximum temperature was reached just before 7pm today and was about average for the time of year. The minimum however, was slightly above average. Current Temp: 12.6°C Max Temp: 19.2°C (at 18:50) Min Temp: 11.2°C (at 05:00) Humidity: 84% Min Humidity: 69% (at 11:34) Pressure: 1011.2hPa (Rising) Dewpoint: 9.9°C Wind: SSW (8mph) My June average currently stands at 13.5°C (-0.6°C Below the 1971-2000 average).
  21. Report for Tuesday 14th June 2005, Readings taken at 00:00. A mostly cloudy day with occasional sunny spells and light drizzle. The evening saw clearer skies which allowed more prolonged sunshine. Temperatures overall were around average for June, but it still felt rather cool due to the lack of sunshine. Temperatures this evening have held up well and have actually started to rise in the past hour or so due to skies becoming cloudier. Current Temp: 12.1°C Max Temp: 18.9°C (at 14:50) Min Temp: 10.4°C (at 05:47) Humidity: 77% Min Humidity: 58% (at 14:56) Pressure: 1009.8hPa (Rising) Dewpoint: 8.1°C Wind: SSW (4mph) My June average currently stands at 13.4°C (-0.7°C Below the 1971-2000 average).
  22. Report for Monday 13th June 2005, Readings taken at 23:55. A miserable day, 100% cloud cover and light drizzle. This continued pretty much well into the evening, though it has dried up a little in the past few hours. With a maximum temperature of only 14.3°C, it is the coldest day so far this June and with a strengthening wind, it has felt cold all day as well. The wind has also turned south-westerly and become stronger, but hopefully the warmer air will arrive tomorrow. Current Temp: 10.9°C Max Temp: 14.3°C (at 12:05) Min Temp: 5.9°C (at 04:57) Humidity: 86% Min Humidity: 69% (at 10:10) Pressure: 1002.1hPa (Steady) Dewpoint: 8.6°C Wind: WSW (10mph) My June average currently stands at 13.3°C (-0.8°C Below the 1971-2000 average).
  23. Report for Sunday 12th June 2005, Readings taken at 23:45. A changeable day with mostly cloudy skies intermixed with sunny spells and occasional light rain earlier on, neither lasting for very long. Mid-afternoon saw more organised rain arrive, which was quite heavy and when coupled with poor temperatures felt more like February than June. This evening has seen some breaks in the cloud allowing some late sunny spells. Temperatures today were again below average for June, with a maximum of only 17.1°C and the majority of the day being around only 14°C. Current Temp: 7.3°C Max Temp: 17.1°C (at 12:58) Min Temp: 7.2°C (at 23:42) Humidity: 87% Min Humidity: 56% (at 12:50) Pressure: 1006.0hPa (Steady) Dewpoint: 5.1°C Wind: WNW (6mph) My June average currently stands at 13.6°C (-0.5°C Below the 1971-2000 average).
  24. Report for Saturday 11th June 2005, Readings taken at 23:40. The morning started with overcast skies and light drizzle, which became heavier for a while mid-morning. After midday it dried up and the cloud thinned a little, allowing the occasional bright spell. It also felt noticeably cooler at this point, with the temperature dropping quickly by around 5°C in a matter of 45 minutes. The clearing skies continued allowing some sunshine into the late afternoon and evening, which helped the temperature to recover slightly. At present, the skies are partly cloudy with the temperature slowly dropping again. Throughout the day pressure has been falling aswell and has increased to a rate of almost 1mb/hour in the last few hours. Current Temp: 8.9°C Max Temp: 16.1°C (at 12:18) Min Temp: 8.1°C (at 00:01) Humidity: 79% Min Humidity: 58% (at 17:38) Pressure: 1013.4hPa (Falling) Dewpoint: 5.4°C Wind: S (Calm) My June average currently stands at 13.7°C (-0.4°C Below the 1971-2000 average).
  25. Report for Friday 10th June 2005, Readings taken at 23:50. A completely different day to yesterday. Although it was generally sunny with broken cloud it was much cooler. The maximum temperature was actually reached at 2am, steadily cooling by dawn and not reaching much above 15°C for the rest of the day. This evening has seen clear skies and the temperature is falling rather rapidly, so overall today is below average for June, having the effect of decreasing my June average to -0.2°C below the 1971-2000 value. Current Temp: 8.2°C Max Temp: 16.5°C (at 02:06) Min Temp: 8.2°C (Current) Humidity: 76% Min Humidity: 53% (at 15:47) Pressure: 1022.4hPa (Falling) Dewpoint: 4.2°C Wind: NE (2mph) My June average currently stands at 13.9°C (-0.2°C Below the 1971-2000 average).
