Same over here in Thurrock, as the Met Office Yellow warning for thunderstorm and heavy showers misses our area by 15 miles.

We are one day short of achieving last year's annual total of sunspotless days.

The cooler weather did not last long and it is no longer cloudy but is very warm and sunny with scattered cumulus clouds.

I am also enjoying the cloudy and cool weather as it much easier to cope with.

Another bright, sunny day with variable cloud cover. The pollen count has gone from very high down to medium but the UV index is very high today. The Met Office says that the air pollutant index for Thurrock is 4 but I know that there are many places in Thurrock where the roads have high volumes of traffic, especially HGV's where it would be a lot higher. It also states that by the end of 2018, the spotless intervals will be measured in weeks.

Things are getting so desperate with the lack of rain in South Ockendon, I have even considered doing a rain dance to make it rain. Usually when the tennis/cricket season starts, is when we get the most rain but sadly not this year. The novelty of days of continuous sunshine, with no rain, hardly any clouds or wind has gone. Yes I too would love to see a few days of rain and so will my garden.

This is fantastic news that the solar flux has gone down to normal levels. Hopefully it will go further down

I have been suffering from severe hay-fever for over two weeks and from yesterday my symptoms have begun to settle. The temperature now is 20 °C and the humidity is at 77%. Mainly clear blue sky and the only clouds there are at a very low level and are barely noticeable. The current wind speed and direction is 8 mph North Easterly winds. The pollen count is high today and the UV level is very high. The met office have the air pollution at 3 but I don't know where this was taken as Thurrock has high pollution areas especially in the industrial areas and on roads with a heavy volume of traffic.

That's great news to hear that the sun is blank again and that the solar flare count has gone down to 70.
