It is cloudy now 22 °c with brief occasional spells of sunshine but it feels a lot cooler.

Cloud is very slowly breaking up with sporadic sunny spells. The temperature is 14.3 °c and the wind speed is 5 mph and is coming from an East North East direction. There is moderate visibility and the humidity has risen from (yesterday) 58% to 84%. The pollen level is still very high and the UV index is 3 and is set to rise to 7 by 1pm. The air pollution is 3 but will probably rise along with the temperature and UV index. I am suffering very badly from hay-fever which is very rare for me and it is affecting my sister very badly (as she gets hay fever every year). Need to check on my wild flower pot plants to see the progress of the seedlings.

I am very anxious about my wild flower seeds that I have planted in late May as there is little sign of any of the seeds germinating yet.

No update today on Spaceweather but SILSO has the sunspot count today as zero, as well as Solarham.net.

My sleep last night was disturbed by very loud thunder and the crackle of lightening but not much rain. Thurrock was not forecasted for thunder and lightning. Even after the storm it still feels very humid and hopefully it will get less humid soon.

A wonderfully warm and sunny day today in South Ockendon. I was at the May day local community celebrations on the green outside the library where there was maypole dancing which I took part in. The top temperature today was 25 °C .

That's an amazing amount of spotless days. There is a report on spaceweather.com showing a large hole in the sun's atmosphere. I wonder what if there will be any affect on the sun's spotless run.

Spaceweather.com has not updated the sunspot count today. I have went to the Solarham.net website and they said that there are currently no visible sunspots for the first day of May.re

Some of the fields and grass verges are all ready flooded in Thurrock. More places in Thurrock will get flooded now. There is a muddy path near a pub which is usually dry but now most of the path is flooded.

There has been non-stop rain since the early hours of this morning and only stopped after 4:30pm. It also has been very windy. The temperature is 6.7 °C but the apparent temperature is 4.0 °C . The humidity is very high at 98%.

I hope that there won't be any frosty weather for the May Bank holiday as I have had my wildflower seeds sown and I am also waiting for another batch of wildflower seeds to be sown in planters. Today is sunny with scattered clouds and the temperature is 24 ° and is slightly cooler than yesterday. There is a NW light breeze with a 50% humidity.

It's a wonderful sunny day with a clear sky and bright sunshine. It is cooler here than Central London with a top temperature of 19oC.

I have been looking at past sunspot count archive records on spaceweather.com, there is no annual number of sun spotless days for 2008. In their archive records for December 30 2009 they have 260 days of spotless days. In the new adjusted method that appears on the present page the number is 51 days. The archives records has 2010 with a massive 486 days which is lower than on the home page of 260 days. I wonder what would the current number of sun spotless days this year would be if we were still using the Wolf method.

It is a horrible dreich day in South Ockendon with low clouds and mist. The temperature is 9.7 °C and the apparent temperature is 9.2 °C . The humidity is 98% and the barometer pressure is steady at 1004.0 mb. It has been a quite a while since it was warm and sunny in Thurrock. I wonder if the promised warm and sunny weather will ever come to Essex.

The sunspot count has not been this low for many years. I wonder if the sunspot count on spaceweather for the years 2009 and 2010 are using the old sunspot count method or the new method.
