  1. Absolutely agree. Some of the runs being thrown up by the models are terrifying! The weather fanatic in me is wowed by the output but the sensible me is horrified! Our gardens and farms really don't need that heat/lack of rain (let alone our elderly and vulnerable!) Also scary from a climate point of view. What worries me is there aren't any real downgrade runs appearing.....
  2. Pretty lively out there! Almost constant flashes and torrential rain. Some huge claps of thunder and loads of rumbling.
  3. Is it just me or does it look like it's fragmenting and petering out as it moves our way?
  4. Please could I pinch that photo? Fantastic composition and very atmospheric.....really want to paint it! One flash and one rumble and steady rain all evening. Really hoping for a decent storm later in the night but the radar looking quite quiet at the moment.
  5. Wow, think the last gust was bigger than any we had from Eunice, am guessing squall going through. Loads of crashing and banging....dreading seeing what's happened in daylight! Have lit the candles just in case as lights flickering a lot
  6. Winds really picking up here now. Waiting for the rain.... Only just got our power back on and have a feeling it will go again. Still no internet though, have to drive to the top of the village to get a glimmer of data so I can catch up on the forum and forecast! Winds really picking up here now. Waiting for the rain.... 7. Finally got some data connection! Power been out since 11.47am and not expected to be back on til 11.30pm tomorrow night according to uk power networks! Weird that we've had zero data, not even E all day til now and no mobile signal either, wonder if it's due to high usage in the area? Really frustrating not being able to read the forum all day! It's been pretty awful here but got of lighter than I expected, just broken fence and gate. Very grateful for our woodburner and gas oven! Hope you're all ok and haven't suffered too much damage.
  8. Snowing here right now! Just went out to get some more logs in and it's actually snowing! Proper flakes too, no sleety element! Wind chill feels savage out there.
  9. Oh no! That's a long wait! Is there no one else in your area who could do it sooner? Think we'll be needing our woodburners/fires more than ever this year what with the gas price hike. Just watch the price of logs go up now!
  10. Having the chimney swept tomorrow and can honestly see myself needing to light the wood burner tomorrow night! I've been really chilly for the last few days!
  11. Not all that much rain here at all today, just misty, murky and very muggy. The fields looked autumnal with the mist hanging over them this evening. Hoping for a few sunny days to get out on the river on my new kayak!
  12. Huge flashes and thunder getting louder here. It went from completely still to hearing a rush of wind that built and built, now lashing it down too!
  13. The radar is coming to life with strikes around the coast of eastbourne and Brighton. A couple of strikes further inland around hailsham and polegate too. Am hoping it pushes further north and east a little!
  14. An impressive high of 13.7C here! We have had really torrential rain on/off since around 5am, roads are flooded and I'm seeing reports of gardens, garages and the odd house flooded too on the local Facebook group! What do we reckon the chances are of T/storms this afternoon? I'm not holding my breath!
  15. Out in the middle of the field taking the horses flyrug off and suddenly absolutely torrential rain! (Huge tropical sized drops) just got back in dripping all over the place when the thunder started. Only lasted about half hour and now light rain and very dark. Still feels very muggy. I'm hoping that was just an appetizer for what's to come!
  16. Was woken up by thunder at 5.30am, it rumbled around for a while but nothing particularly exciting. No rain at all today despite the beebs app forecast last night!
  17. Clouded over here in Neatishead but looking at the radar, it seems the stormy activity is not east enough for N. Norfolk. Shame but might be a good thing as just about to head out in the kayak!
  18. I'm in Neatishead and it's gone really hazy and muggy.....we might be in for it this time!
