  1. The year will come in as warm (or cool) as it does, keith...Nature cares not a jot about what 'most agree'...
  2. Fair enough, William...But individual perturbations start from incorrect data?
  3. It's fair enough to state that Galileo, Brahe, Wegener, Copernicus, and the like were ahead of their time and overturned centuries' of religion-/ philosophy-based naivety. But comparing such early visionaries with Watts and Monckton et al, seems a tad optimistic; for Watts and Monckton to be correct, centuries' of mechanics, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and quantum mechanics (to name a few) would all need overturning, in one go... Global Warming Theory is not a stand-alone discipline...
  4. I think they were hoping that the word 'elsewhere' would be redundant? It's a very common scenario, when all the models point towards marginality...
  5. I'll remind everyone in here, too: If you want to respond to a post from the 'other' thread, just copy the link across...That way, each thread has its own distinctive character and is easier to follow. I'd rather move off-topic posts than delete them.
  6. Similarities, though not to be taken too seriously, with the wet-snow event on Xmas Day 1968? If the model-predictions anywhere near approach reality, that is...
  7. Most claims made by dyed-in-the-wool 'sceptics' are like that, Malcolm...Since when has objectivity ever been allowed to stand in the way of the sort of sophistic, casuistic nincompoopery that seeps out of of WUWT et al?
  8. Though, with the weight of evidence being what it is (overwhelming?), such an outcome is about as likely as faster-than-light space travel; both would contravene the laws of physics...
  9. Some parts are, some parts are not...
  10. He might actually be right: a sea-level temp of only 4C and gale-force westerly winds, places above about 200m can see an awful lot of snow. And large tracts of Scotland are above 200m ASL...
  11. But it's the mass of melting ice that raises sea-levels, not its spatial extent...
  12. Which would be very useful. Because mass is the thing that really matters...
  13. http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/76448-scepticism-of-man-made-climate-change/page-46#entry2862655 A rather silly little graph though? One could just as legitimately (or not) claim that there's been a rise since 2008? So, we have a 5-year rise in global temperatures coupled with increasing Antarctic ice...What of it? A perfect demonstration of why climatologists use thirty-year timescales...
  14. http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/76448-scepticism-of-man-made-climate-change/page-46#entry2862631 Maybe yes, maybe no. But it certainly isn't down to global cooling: there hasn't been any!
  15. Now it's grey and rather damp. Warm enough to not need a coat or a jumper though...
  16. I'm sure the Excreta will beat that... 200 mph Super Hurricane Emily to Blow The UK into North Sea, Experts Warn...
  17. Interesting how, with Arctic sea-ice showing modest signs of a recovery, the Polar Vortex seems stronger than ever; but Solar output is relatively high...
  18. There you go... http://www.london-weather.eu/article.42.html
  19. Fair enough, folks...But I think it's time we all got back to the subject? Put a line under it?
