  1. As there seem to be no useful correlations yet discovered, I'm at a loss to see just how this Autumn (it hasn't even started yet!) is 'shaping up' to be anything. Also, I don't see any connection between said 'correlations' and the model output? The trees may well be loaded with cherries this year...but do we have to pick them all?
  2. No 4wd, you are wrong: there is no presumption that we are the cause; but there's a pretty clear consensus, however, that we are a part of the cause...The presumptions are entirely your own?
  3. How on earth did you manage that, K? I've just had the best thunder-day I've seen in years! You should have come to Beccles, for a storm chase.
  4. My point, guys, is that nothing has ever (will be) 'proven' in the absolute, mathematical sense (in science): axiomatic proofs are the things of mathematics and geometry. Why else do 'sceptics' keep demanding 'proof' rather than evidence? Because it's sleight of hand: the evidence abounds. The 'sceptics' job is to confuse...
  5. Nothing in science has ever been 'proven', barrie...I guess that that's how almost 40% of Brits still believe that the earth is only 6,000 years' old, and that Evolution is 'nothing more than a theory'... Now, I'm in no way suggesting that AGW theory's resistance to falsification is anywhere near as robust (Clearly it might still be shown to be false!) as Evolution by Natural Selection's clearly is. But the evidence (not the hot air - that floats!) is slowly stacking-up... On the other hand, and hats off to hard-working sceptical scientists everywhere, if someone successfully refutes AGW theory, I'll be among the very first to congratulate them! Of course. Dr Doll was a patsy...
  6. That's at least three times someone has claimed that HG is heading for the UK...
  7. How on earth can anyone shoehorn Hansen into it?

  9. It seems as if the science is inching slowly towards settledness?
  10. Sounds as if the enormous potential has drained all the charge from your battery and solar cell. On the up side, the chance of repeat performance could be said to be somewhat remote?
  11. Not at all sure that 2007 and 2011 are 'proof' of anything, CC; although, they are obviously consistent with any hypothesis that sets-out to explain them? And, aren't ENSO and QBO (and all the rest) merely statistical, numerical indices that enable people to feed data into models? Can a numerical index, of itself, cause anything? IMO, the balance between latent and sensible heat and alterations to the Arctic's albedo are far more likely to influence things (in winter especially) than minor fluctuations in solar flux?
  12. Sorry barrie. But I simply don't see how any of the recent News items' graphics have ever suggested that all of Greenland's ice has melted away...IMO, if something's never been said anyway what's the point in us arguing over whether it's right, wrong, dangerous, disingenuous or whatever?
  13. Well, this is what he says about himself: Going to parts other forecasters cannot reach.
  14. As it seems to me: all the storms, today, happened in the places where unbroken sunshine was forecast - and all the sunshine was where the storms were predicted to occur...Did something go wrong with atmospheric profiles, or what?
