The problem with the climate is a relatively small annual rainfall comes from a lot of rainy days, usually 180-240. Places like New York, Sydney, Rome are much wetter but only have half the wet days and 500-1000 hours more sun.
Our climate can be described no other way than dull, damp & cool and there is no statistical data to suggest otherwise.
In other words.CRAP

Plus I think that the people that like hot weather love to walk in the shade or sit under a tree which is fine but my worst nightmare.I am a complete sun worshiper and im building a tree house so I can sit in it mid winter on those beautiful frosty morning days where the sun will heat my microcosm room and I can pretend to be in Narvana all open plan facing south of course..

I wonder how many people who frequent this website, aren't looking for particular types of weather to satisfy their desires? It seems that many are suffering what musicians call 'the artist's curse'. The search for perceived perfection, with a sense of never being satisfied, even though the nuanced details causing so much unrest are barely noticed by the majority. I've never heard so many people squabble over glorious blue skies and decent temperatures in all my life! Folks, just get out there and enjoy it!!!
Yes I totally agree the sunshine is absolutley amazing and for me sat in my garden at 16 degrees the sun is so high its way better than sweating and just feels perfect. I love 25 degree heat as anyone who likes hot weather, but im sitting here right now in my suntrap and the current temp is 13 degrees and im in my speedos and it feels as good as my ibiza holiday in early May.Its the blue sky and sunshine is all we need I feel I mean look at that sun now we need somberos its that high and strong

Funny that May 27th every year seems to be beautiful weather (here at least). Happened eight years in a row now. There's something about this late May period that always seems to bring clear blue skies, even just for a short time.
jeepers just checked my personal weather diaries and only 2018 and last year were pleasant in Dublin since 2015 on may 27th..Nice to be in the big toe of britain on May 27th

The 06Z GFS run is dreadful for warmth. A couple of high teen days during the weekend and then a cold high takes over before it elongates and sets up another raging easterly advecting cold pools towards us. Not a sniff on anything remotely warm or pleasant.
Edit to be fair it looks like being a massive outlier, however GFS is again going down the route of cold outlier after cold outlier.....Not a god trend.
Good sypnotics for much of Ireland with probably good sunshine amounts daily and beautiful weather out of the wind..

well I got up to 19 C here yesterday with Mount Dillion in the center of Ireland at 21.4. Was a nice day, humid but over cast in the morning, them sun breaking out and real sunny. Was weird as I was in two minds about sitting down or back out to the garden and the weather made the call when the sun came out. Overcast again this morning but should clear to a dry week and reasonable temps.
A wonderful day yesterday sitting in the sunshine indeed and already 18 degrees at Dublin Airport lunchtime and mostly blue skies on the coast.. Its very rare in my opinion keeping my weather records that Ireland achieves the warmest temperature before mainland UK .I can't recall it happening in decades so hopefully somebody has the stats..Anyways looking forward to the sleet at the end of the month and I'm off to ibiza on May 4th.. It cannot come quick enough

Yes, while the brief colder spell does have -8c uppers engulfing the country, its too late for it to equal severe cold, if it was Dec 21st then yes, you could be looking at a big sub zero day or 2, so could lower it substantially, but not significantly in late march enough to bring 6 back into the equation.
it just looked earlier that the milder interlude was going to keep it around 6.. Clutching at straws maybe as I predicted 6.1
