I quite agree the snow and wind here today have been horrendous and still it continues people should not be going anywhere around here unless it’s really necessary. No visibility because of drifting snow and not been above -4 all day!!

So has my garden

I’m in the Amber are now about time!!

My Dad is 84 and lives higher up than me so even getting to his is horrendous. The garden is now buried under massive drifts and it’s still snowing. Need to ring up and cancel my Spa afternoon- don’t think we would get there!

Ok you can stop now. Spent an hour sorting out my dads condensate pipe which is in the most exposed corner of his house! Now Home and can’t see out of the windows for drifting and falling snow. Nice day with best mate in Manchester cancelled as too dangerous to drive even with 4x4. Very pretty to look at but it’s the wind!

Woken by the howling wind, so much snow in the air difficult to know whether its drifting or actually snowing at the moment, walking the dogs this morning could be exciting especially for the little one who was struggling with the drifts last night, could totally vanish into them today. Need to go back to bed for a few hours now!

The snow is so heavy that it looks like thick fog outside the window, no visibility at all!

Minus 6 here and the sun hasn’t set yet. Wind blowing settled snow into beautiful drifts which will start to block the gates soon. Looking a radar the showers a building nicely and heading this way.

Minus 4 here and wind direction has gone Easterly again so showers come to me from Hull.

Mine are the same white faces and snowballs on legs. I’ve put them in the boot room by the radiator to defrost and drip!!

Have given in and took the dogs in the field. Wind strong and drifts starting to form in the lane. Snow deep enough to easily cover my boots and it keeps on coming!!

Dogs want to go for s walk but they will have to wait

Very heavy drifting snow just started here, it looks like that big line is holding together this time.

Just took the dogs out now snowing heavily and topping up quickly now.

At least if it does get here it will be snow!

Proper flakes but drifting about in the wind, a slight covering and every flake settles but not enough intensity, sky darkening up again now so maybe a proper shower coming. Off to Manchester on a course so hope to come home to a decent amount.

Been out with Hounds wearing 3 layers on body plus hat and gloves- just right!

Me too sounds cold without even setting my foot outside but dogs need walking and cats feeding so I’m going to have to leave my nice warm bed!!

To be honest it feels cold enough already dogs only got a very cursory walk around my field this evening I wasn’t going any further afield it was cold enough this morning. Need to dig out my proper gloves my fingerless ones don’t work in this weather!

I,ve brought a car load of logs down from the stables and bought 3 bags of coal today, I am prepared!!

I have driven down to the South of France for many years which is 10 hours from Calais, now I drive to Dover and get the tunnel and go to bed at a Travel lodge place in Calais and then go to sleep, this means I get a good nights sleep. I get up at about 7 French time and start driving, if im on my own I would stop after 5 hours in somewhere like Beaune and then continue the next day. On the way home I usually push it to Reims so I only have 1.5 hours to Calais as I usually drive home from Dover. It was much easier when I lived in London! Ive just looked up where you are driving to - that's one hell of a long way!
