    Driving down the M66 this morning was an adventure! Loads of deep lying water!

    Driven to Skipton today for lunch and Christmas shopping. Snow on the way there and snow on way back between Burnley and Bacup at Deerplay moor and to top it all thunder at home and a heavy hail shower while dog walking just now. It’s very cold out there!!

    Oh no that’s not good. I hope for you it doesn’t drift to much up your end. I’m very sheltered from a northerly it’s the east wind that causes me a problem!

    Well I’m nearly 60 and I sledge in my field which conveniently has a good slope!

    Just had our first rumble and the radar shows a storm incoming but it did this last night and it vanished giving us 5 minutes of spotty rain

    Snowing in Bacup

    Drove from Bacup to Todmorden at 0930 and it was 2oC and sleeting. On my return temp had risen to 3oC and the sun was coming out!

    I’ve just been up on Maden Rec and it was so cold I got real pain in my face !!

    We’re in a heavy shower now with strong wind blowing the snow off the field

    A covering from overnight showers and now we are under a streamer which is producing plenty of small dry flakes. The wind is also picking up the snow off the roofs and blowing it around.

    Just returned from braving the icy wastes with the hounds. Everything is frozen solid. Black ice on every solid surface and snizzle blowing in the wind. Any plans for a walk with one nominated friend knocked on the head as sure I’ll return with a broken bone!!

    Looking at the radar those showers are piling in off the North Sea. Let’s hope they make it here
