  1. http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/archive/2001/avn/Rtavn00220010321.png Next week's charts have a very March 2001 esque feel to them, didn't this give some decent snowfall for many? The ECM and GFS were hinting this a few days back, backed off and now it's upgrading again with each run so definitely something to keep an eye on.
  2. It's one of those really frustrating setups this weekend/next week which could of been really good for wintry weather but the low just sits over us although the ECM and UKMO have it pulling away drawing the cold uppers in eventually. Personally i'm happy to see no sign of spring yet just in the hope of it meaning the dry summery weather is actually saved for summer for once, I know there's apparently no correlation but i'm holding onto the hope of a scorcher this year  In the meantime tonight might finally bring a hard frost, skies clearing rapidly now and GFS has low's of -4/-5 widespread.
  3. Light snow showers here in Telford, surprisingly pure snow to, no hail/sleetiness.
  4. Even with the band slipping southwards were still managing to stay in a dry gap here  I knew the snow shield evaporation in January was a blip.
  5. Yup major dissapointment as here as usual from an easterly, even the -13 uppers couldn't deliver, much more potential this weekend/early next week.
  6. A few brief snow showers here in Telford today, everytime it starts to stick though the shower clears to blue skies and sunshine, max of just 0.3c though so chilliest day in quite a while.
  7. Nothing here, shock, bone dry and overcast as per.
  8. No shocks radar exploding all around here whilst were in the dry gap
  9. Yeah I suppose after how lucky we were in January we shouldn't whinge but I can't help but be jealous of those in the south and east  You'd think with such cold uppers and a strong storm winding up in the channel there would be a trough or two in the mix but alas nothing.
  10. Still expecting nothing more than an on and off flurry fest the next 36 hours here with cloudy skies preventing severe frost, end of the week/next weekend has much more potential with a chance for an evaporative cooling event e.g the one we had a month ago.
  11. Snow flurries for the past two hours here, obviously way to light to stick, tonight looking potential interesting though with the potential for a streamer IF that pesky front to the south doesn't edge to far north.
  12. Yup the 12z confirming what I suspected, this weekends front fizzling to nothing as it hits here Sunday then just a few polystyrene ball graupel showers Monday with the heavy stuff over the south.
  13. I'm still expecting a dry weekend here, Saturday/Sundays front to far north, Mondays to far south but the cloud from both will kill off any shower potential.
  14. Well that's a surprising turn of events, usually these fronts end up downgrading and ending up further south from us but this ones trended north with each run, at this rate it will stall across Scotland
  15. I'm not getting excited for Sunday/Monday at all, it's the type that always downgrades last minute to -5/-6 uppers and high pressure to near.
  16. Miserable murky day today, despite the mild air only limped up to 6c with drizzle on and off.
  17. Glorious warm March sunshine today, currently hovering around 11c here.
  18. Absolutely bitter last night with everywhere frosted over, low of -4.5c, generally overcast thus far today though, Tuesday looks glorious ahead of the rain, 12/13c and sunny!
  19. Yes a glorious cloudless day thus far here after the murk of yesterday, feels really pleasant to with there being practically no breeze.
  20. Some light flurries here in Telford now to, nothing major but nice to see
  21. I remember the 2nd of March, woke up to a 4 inch covering first thing after a Cheshire Gap streamer brought snow showers all night, this then thawed through the day under the strong March sun until an almighty beast of a snow shower settled in around 3pm and lasted almost an hour giving some of the heaviest snow ive ever seen. The 1st and following few days also gave morning coverings of snow but again the generally sunny days melted much of it, then of course the 11/12th March snow event came in which whilst not as snowy as the 2004 event of the same day here was still a very decent one, especially just west of here towards Shrewsbury.
  22. It's trying to brighten up here now to at long last! GFS remains horrific though with slate grey skies the rest of the monthand foreseeable future now, ECM is a lot more promising however, just need to ditch this easterly flow.
  23. Shock horror, day 4 of nothingness! No sun, no frost, no snow, really is the worst kind of weather possible.
  24. Yes, utterly horrendous insufferable conditions at the moment and it looks like this time next week still the same, would of hoped with the cold air we'd see clearer conditions but no such luck.
