Big Rant coming up, beware .
Quite a surprising and horrendous turn of events considering two days ago it was tracking so far south with each run I assumed it would slide through the channel, when i saw the northerly shift yesterday i was overjoyed but for it to just keep going further north every run since at first got better then hesitant and now a disaster for here, SO frustrating as it could of been a historic storm if that pesky warm zone was a mere few miles south, you just know tommorow night when it turns back to snow it will explode east of Birmingham and die a death here after a whole day of 1-2c rain, the ECM 12z shifting the warm zone another 40 miles north of the GFS was the nail in the coffin.
And I could care less about the easterly following it, slate grey skies and a few pings of graupel/snow flurries are boring enough in January, we couldn't get anything more than 5 minute flurries from -13 uppers last week and a channel low to drag the showers in, a slack flow will do nothing but give a repeat of February fail easterly aka a cap stopping any showers and instead overcast skies, day and night temps barely moving.
