  1. Sunny spells thus far today and slightly less cold than recent days, stayed above freezing last night just about (0.2c low) for the first time in a while, so fed up of the cold now though, got the next 9 days off so typical that it's gonna remain generally cold and grey
  2. Finally a mostly clear and sunny start to the day in what feels like the first time in forever, -2c the low in the end though surprisingly very little frost.
  3. Anything more than 2 flakes per hour has dodged us today, hoping for something closer to the GFS next week which is at least sunny-ish, in comparison to the grim murk fest UKMO.
  4. Bright and chilly today, finally some sunshine at times for what feels like the first time in forever, max of just 2.4c though!
  5. Max of just 2c today with not as much thawing as I expected, felt absolutely raw in that wind, charts are horrendous for next week, slate grey skies and no sign of any 10c+ days, im glad of the bitter cold till the end of month as it will ensure an exceptional CET but would be nice to get at least one garden day next week for my week off! ill even sit out in 8 degrees if its sunny
  6. Max of just 0.5c today, some 18c colder than this time last year! crazy!!
  7. Snow STILL coming down here in Telford , not got above -0.7c yet either!!!!
  8. Just hoping now it can warm up with some sunshine for my Easter week off, seems unlikely though, looks a washout.
  9. Wow this front just won't die, another fresh cm overnight and still coming down! Incredible!
  10. 18z has round two next Friday/Saturday
  11. Some really heavy snow moving towards Shrewsbury now should help drop that temperature, it's running just south of here but there's some yellows in there so looks rather intense!
  12. Gradual thaw on the way today despite the snow continuing lightly, got a good few inches though with over 6 inches on some surfaces! A truly exceptional event for the time of year two years running.
  13. Winter wonderland this morning out there, a good few inches though thawing in places already.
  14. Heavier pulses of snow finally starting to move north towards us now, hopefully they will make it in the end!
  15. Well seems like that heavier snow just won't shift north after all, still steady light snow however, hopefully the dry gap wont hit us.
  16. Yeah I meant as in moderate/heavy stuff, if you use the zoomed charts theres a bit of a snow/rain shadow effect from Liverpool down to here, wasn't on about the rest of the Midlands, heavy snow for Birmingham and the easties carries on. However looks like snow will keep falling all day tommorow slowly moving north and stalling before dying a death and retreating south tommorow night.
  17. 18z NAE out and still showing plenty of snow to come, GFS also has it pepping up over us during the next few hours before fizzling here after 3am.
  18. Coming down nicely here, not exactly heavy but staying a steady light/moderate level and starting to accumulate slightly, hoping that heavier patch over Hereford/Worcester area can drift this way!
  19. The slushy mess drying out now with a fresh dusting covering up everywhere where its melted today Radar is nothing to exciting but if it can keep going like this all night we should do alright again!
  20. Snow starting to settle again now , temp back down to 0.4c
  21. In the annoying flurry gap here at the moment but it's still to mild to stick anyway so hopefully the heavy stuff waiting till after dusk.
  22. Had about 2 inches of snow here in Telford, turned to drizzly rain now though and drip drip drip, NAE is amazing for this evening/tonight though, much further south than GFS. Looks like 9 hours of thawing now though before the next band sets it and drags the colder air back in.
  23. Moderate snow now in Telford and a dusting already, whey.
  24. The infamous Telford sleet has begun, still holding at 2.7c, long way to drop to see pure snow.
  25. Big Rant coming up, beware . Quite a surprising and horrendous turn of events considering two days ago it was tracking so far south with each run I assumed it would slide through the channel, when i saw the northerly shift yesterday i was overjoyed but for it to just keep going further north every run since at first got better then hesitant and now a disaster for here, SO frustrating as it could of been a historic storm if that pesky warm zone was a mere few miles south, you just know tommorow night when it turns back to snow it will explode east of Birmingham and die a death here after a whole day of 1-2c rain, the ECM 12z shifting the warm zone another 40 miles north of the GFS was the nail in the coffin. And I could care less about the easterly following it, slate grey skies and a few pings of graupel/snow flurries are boring enough in January, we couldn't get anything more than 5 minute flurries from -13 uppers last week and a channel low to drag the showers in, a slack flow will do nothing but give a repeat of February fail easterly aka a cap stopping any showers and instead overcast skies, day and night temps barely moving.
