Interestingly the Netherlands showed very similar numbers. Did the UK have a holiday? The peak in the Netherlands coincided with 7 days post winter holiday and people returning from the Alps (and Italy)

The Italian banks simply don't have any reserves and rely on a constant flow of new cash when that dries up people will find out there savings are really just gone. One " positive" note, Italy doesn't have pension reserves (unlike eg. Here in the Netherlands where you safe during your productive years )either and relies on the young to sustain the pensions of an ever aging population

The Netherlands has, we have at least 2 calamity hospitals (1 Amsterdam 1 utrecht )in nuclear fallout shelters. I can't imagine the UK having none

And you made good use of that fact by limiting travel from infected areas, put people in quarantine before any cases had entered the country

you need to be very careful with supplement, you never know exactly what you are getting. Put an otherwise healthy elderly in a hospital and they run a significant risk of dying, why do you think broken hips are one of the biggest reasons for mortality in the elderly? Most of these people were otherwise healthy until the carnivore fell.

Hypertension is just a risk factor for cardiovascular disease, it is not what they mean. You'd have to think of conditions like chronic cardiac failure or copd

It could also be due to different medical practices or insurance policies. If you want to kill weak vulnerable older people just put them in a hospital, the perfect breeding ground for the nastiest secondary infections, do you want pseudomonas or mrsa, just get admitted into a hospital, especially with compromised lung epithelium. That might just have been what Italy has been doing

They can both induce a cytokine storm but the spanish flu did so in the strong and healthy, corona only in the weak and elderly
