I wouldn't say it's off. But some may see a brief spell of wet snow/sleet Saturday morning, before turning to rain, especially over hills.
It's a bit like opening the Celebrations tub and only the Bounty chocolates remain. It's chocolate, but not what most of us would want!
The Northerners have nicked all the Maltesers and Galaxy Caramel as per.Love it

Freezing in Herts with a strong wind, stronger than I thought it was meant to be...oh and did I mention its raining?

It occurs to me and I apologise if this point has already been made that once we get a split in the strat vortex (which is progged over the n Atlantic within the next couple days ) we should see the nwp unable to progress troughs to the east of the meridian. Let’s see if this begins to play out ......
What effect if that plays out does that have for the UK down the line?

Is it just me or knowing we had a SSW so early on a decending easterly QBO, low solar activity, a weakening La Nina and we still can't get cold this year things are looking bleak for future years

Don’t forget that is only the gfs take on it.other models not quite as bullish for return of such strong zonal winds.Be interesting to see how the next 30 days from here pans out.
And there is a lag time associated with any recovery

Thankyou!
Some of the bed wetting on here this evening is laughable.
And thats coming from Net weathers number one bed wetter !!
I was going to say you can talk all honesty though I think quite a few were burnt (including me) by the last cold spell so there is a lot of I need -10 uppers and dew points of -20 etc to be sure if anything does fall it is white even though that is not necessarily required

Vividly remember walking to school as a five year old in 87 with my mum. My earliest memory of real cold.
I couldn't catch my breath. Was exciting but bloody scary at that age!
One for you then! Watch to the end

I believe the winter of 1947 had a few of them
@chionomaniac also I don't think the uppers in the winter of 47 were that cold either were they? Not saying we are looking at a 47 winter but just clinging onto the hope we can get something decent this winter
