  1. It's a bonus how close much of the Midlands is getting to a snowfall.
  2. How could it not be marginal with the 0c 850 line across the Midlands this evening?
  3. But it's the end of March, settling snow is unusual this late, let alone 6cm.
  4. Disagree, light to moderate snow continues from now to this time tomorrow.
  5. Coming down quite well and settling in Coventry: http://bws.users.netlink.co.uk/
  6. It But the atmosphere becomes more conducive for snow as the night goes on.
  7. Uppers gradually fall after midnight. What? Over a foot of snow in parts of Wales and North Midlands 'over-hyped'!
  8. My guess is 1-2 inches by morning. And if so not bad for the end of March...
  9. Overcast all day, periods of rain, heavy to very heavy at times, especially late morning. Fresh to strong ESE wind, and very cold feeling. Just the hint of sleet at times. Only intermittent light rain and drizzle since 1600. Min: 2.7c @ midnight (it also fell off to 2.6c in the very heavy rain 1100) Max: 4.2c @ 1500 Rain yesterday: 30.0mm Rain since 0900 today: 24mm (Over 50mm falling in the 24 hours to 1500) Currently: Intermittent light rain/ sleet Temp: 2.5c RH: 93% Pressure: 1004mbar, rising slowly And Thursday:
  10. Classic evaporative cooling, a heavier area over Herefordshire currently, it could turn sleety again when it lessens.
  11. With colder air digging down overnight, once temps get to zero it should more readily settle, I expect 5cm quite widely over the central Midlands by morning. Note on GFS the 0c 850 line currently through Brum will be over southern England by dawn, so a good covering for most of the Midlands.
  12. 53mm in the 24 hours to 1500 today, surprisingly no real flooding. Light rain back again now, 3c, max 4.2c.
  13. Don't know about that 10 inches of snow relatively low lying around Wrexham!
  14. 30mm rain since it started yesterday afternoon, flooding will be more an issue SW and mid Wales!
  15. Much more difficult for snow to accumulate end of March with soil temperature profile above zero, and air temps only close to 0c, snow would need to be very heavy indeed to build up.
  16. Mild sector arrived St Clears, distinctly milder than just one hour ago, still pouring, still very windy.
  17. Doubtful, ECM has the 850 0c over Notts 1200 Friday suggests rain or sleet much of central and south-west Midlands around midday tomorrow.
  18. Wondering if it will be snow to rain tonight then back to snow at some stage tomorrow for the central Midlands, i.e. tonights snow washed away by morning, then further setting snow later tomorrow?
  19. It's often the case for us in West Wales that by the time the uppers are low enough the precipitation is dying out.
  20. Very heavy rain and strong winds this evening here at St Clears, also back home where 18mm has fallen since 1900, including 9mm in the hour to 2130! Could be sleet back home as it's 2.9c?
