  1. My village is amongst the colder spots tonight. -6.3c clear and calm, 2c on the coast and 4c parts of n wales currently. Very varied temps!
  2. So much for my -2c, already below -5c before midnight, bitter!
  3. Cold one this evening! Currently -5.4c, 2c to go to beat the Season's coldest of -7.3c.
  4. -4c here in clear West Wales, almost as low as it got last night which was cloudier and windier.
  5. From the March CET thread, 1987 is the milestone for modern cold March's: March has rarely been below the long-term average in the past three decades. 4.1 in 1987. While 1962 is unlikely to beat: 2.8 ... 6. Clear intervals and light snow flurries last night gave a patchy sprinkling by dawn. Hard frost. Cold with sunny spells today, moderate to fresh NE wind. Clear and frosty this evening. Min: -4.6c @ midnight Max: 5.9c @ 1300 Trace rain (snow) yesterday and today, although no sign of yesterdays snow flurries in the gauge! Currently: Clear periods, frosty. Temp: -2c RH: 76% Pressure: 1014mbar, steady And Monday's snow flurries:
  7. It won't come off though will it. GFS extremities are always moderated in reality, then there are the other models to consider for a more rounded perspective. ECM chilly but the -5c to -7c uppers it is showing for next week may not be low enough for snow all the way, rather more of a wintry mix, but great convective potential with plenty of hail and thunder about from this weekend, but miserably cool rather than cold, example chart:
  8. Depends what we consider as spring like. To me its a topsy turvy transition from winter to summer and certainly not warm and sunny!
  9. It will soon pass through lovely and sunny behind that band!
  10. Snow flurries overnight, put down a sprinkling most of which has blown away! Min: -4.6c suggests quite a lot of cloud.
  11. Not sure the excitement this evening, just looks like a scattering of light snow showers, mainly over the NE Midlands to me , should give further dustings though. Playing the radar back they are constantly feeding to the same region and fizzling over Warwickshire.
  12. Bitterly cold and quite windy today. Clear intervals and black frost last night. Sunny intervals and occasional snow flurries today, some rather heavy ones afternoon. Fresh NE wind. Clear periods and a hard penetrating frost this evening. Min: -2.1c @ 0800 Max: 2.7c @ 1400 Trace rain yesterday and today Currently: Clear periods, rather windy. Temp: -3.5c RH: 66% Pressure: 1013mbar, rising slowly.
  13. Coldest March day at Coventry (and probably much of the Midlands) since 1970. Max at Bablake weather station today 0.7c cf 0.3c in 1970:] https://twitter.com/bablakewx
  14. It is just a pleasant bonus to see snow falling today even if it's not enough to settle.
  15. The power of the sun shown by the temperature now up above 2c in a good sunny spell, with -12c uppers in January it would be well below zero.
  16. A fair rash of snow showers over the UK now, the stronger March sunshine aiding convection through the afternoon, however not many places reporting more than a dusting.
  17. Very light snow flurries on and off this morning, not coming to anything, temp 0c
  18. Cold and quite windy today. Rather cloudy, a few sunny intervals, fresh ENE wind. Min: 1.5c @ 0530 Max: 4.7c @ 1230 Trace rain yesterday and today Currently: Clear intervals, frosty, quite windy. Temp: -0.9c RH: 69% Pressure: 1008mbar, rising slowly.
