  1. That downpour between Kilmarnock and Ayr looks pretty bad and has been going for a while. Unsurprisingly reports of flooding starting to appear.
  2. More storms forming just over the border into northern England moving north...
  3. Nice view looking towards east Kilbride ?️?️?️?️
  4. That storm has basically chased me up the M74?️ some interesting skies around that area but I didn't see any lightning.
  5. I'm sitting at Gretna Green at the moment under the anvil from the Cumbria storms. Would not be surprised if it went supercelluar. Not sure I'll wait for it as it'll probably hit East of here but tempted....
  6. Absolutely, anything could happen. I can see why Nick has gone further south with that forecast, some of the parameters over NW England looking particularly severe. I'm driving through there later too.I don't fancy a supercell over the M6 or M74 as there are limited escape routes!
  7. Most of the storm forecasts have everything to the east of Glasgow, but given Tuesday nights storms were forecast to have the worst in the west of Scotland from many outlets and they ended up in the east then anything could happen!
  8. Ooo that's basically the M74 corridor which I'll be driving up tomorrow evening.. Dashcam will be on
  9. It's still 23c in Prestwick, there must be a pretty good chance its going to beat the highest overnight minimum record!
  10. Convective weather has gone for a moderate risk of storms tomorrow night over the west of Scotland(North of Glasgow) Slight risk for all of mainland Britain which is good! https://www.convectiveweather.co.uk/
  11. Unsurprisingly pretty much no lightning in the warning zone last night for Scotland. There were some torrential rain showers though, as predicted by the UKV, so some form of yellow warning was definitely warranted. I guess a yellow warning is low chance!
  12. Yellow thunderstorm warning just been issued for tonight and tomorrow morning. Ive not been keeping a close eye on the charts but I wasn't expecting that! South West Scotland now has some form of rain warning all the way out to Tuesday!
  13. I was joking earlier when I said the storms would die out and form further east but it looks to be happening. (at least we saw something though) That storm near Biggar looks like a strong storm from the radar..
  14. Saw a nice cloud to ground strike close to the M77 while driving about half an hour ago. Everything seems to have skipped past pretty quickly but it feels a lot cooler and at least the hay-fever sufferers will begin to get some relief!
  15. Plenty of storms out west, will they make it... Or will they just give drizzle in the west and reform for the east coast?
  16. Sorry to hear that @Stormeh Weather warning for Monday looks interesting, highest impact with danger to life! (English warning is lower impact) Its mainly associated with that torrential band of rain coming in Sunday night into Monday, GFS has the band slightly further west initially impacting the south west Early Monday then brings Glasgow/Ayrshire into play before transferring north east with thundery showers to follow (although I'd trust the meto short range models more)
  17. Convective available potential enegery, the higher the number the more energy there is for the storms to feed off effectively. High values can be a good indicator of large hail Only thing is, GFS tends to inflate the values so it normally looks really high until the day before and if there is no trigger for the storms to form then high CAPE is useless. That's a very brief explanation, loads of science to it.
  18. Associated with that lowcoming out of Northern Ireland so maybe 2hrs. It's even more unlikely I'd say now given its all merged together but possible on the edge of the current mess I guess.
  19. Just jumping in with a ramp, Torro just issued a convective discussion with the (small) risk of some low topped supercells for Western Scotland this evening...
  20. Couple of rumbles of thunder here in Durham. Not going out for a drive as it looks like it'll probably fall apart quickly!
  21. Yes good shout, we've already had a torrential shower with hail this morning. (I got soaked! )
  22. New storm over Kilmarnock now that friends have reported.
  23. Covering of snow here with it still coming down. Snow is sliding off the cars so a slushy affair.
  24. Interesting radar return over Eyemouth. Phone won't let me upload a screenshot!
