    Literally constant thunder rolling off that cell... I've got a good view of it but haven't seen any lightning and the worst is probably just going to slide past here.

    I'm in killie at the moment, can hear the thunder from the storm over towards Ayr heading this wayish.

    I'm surprised that we've not seen an Amber warning for rain yet, particularly today given the persistent heavy rain on top of all the recent flooding.

    Yes just had the same here good pics, hoping for a storm later but not looking like there is going to be much lightning around again.

    >125mm/hr rain rates according to netweather radar - my garage isn't far off being flooded and looks like a night of persistent heavy rain to come at least. It should drain away though so I think the garage will be OK unless we get some storms later. Wife thinks I'm mad because I just walked outside in it..

    Ayrshire daily news on Facebook has a video of that storm causing flash flooding in Cumnock. Kilmarnock about to get hit by some extreme rain/hail from that cell. Torrential rain approaching South Glasgow but I've only heard one rumble of thunder so far.

    Confirmed report of thunder in Kilmarnock so its getting closer. Im just across the M77 from @Stormeh so hoping it makes it here!

    1 torrential downpour and some heavy rain for about the last hour. Chances of storms look low now, but potentially something forming near the M77 and heading this way from a quick look on the radar. Ayrshire seems to have had yet another wet day with reports of flooding on the A71 from the most recent batch of heavy showers.

    You'll get a storm when you least expect it. We've had days of thunderstorm warnings but not a thing. Yesterday was an outside chance with no warning and we got a pretty decent storm. If in doubt go storm chasing, that'll properly make you gutted at every UK storm!

    What a storm when it was so unlikely today. Still ramping up as it moves away with some loud thunder. Absolute deluge as well.

    Same, I drove through that line of heavy showers too and didn't see anything. Made it to Kilmarnock where it was dry and then there was one sferic from the downpour I had just driven through so missed that as well. Ah well, let's hope Sunday delivers! Warning out already.

    Plenty of cumulus building, it also looked like a developing CB over the moors south of Glasgow so I'd expect that to show on radar soon. It could be a third day of floods for Ayrshire!

    Heard from relatives that its decent although I think the worst of the rain is missing them. Looks like it's training in on one area again so flooding will be an issue. (slightly west of A77 this time)

    Thanks. Gauranteed as I'll be back down in North East England! There does look like a good chance of thundery downpours training on the same areas, hopefully the flash flooding won't be as bad as yesterday.
