  1. Prestwick up to 27c already, decent chance of making it to 30c!
  2. A couple of the Traffic Scotland weather stations already close to 25c across the south-west at 10:30! It's a bit cooler further north so far but the heat will build quickly. Traffic Scotland > Traffic Info Map TRAFFICSCOTLAND.ORG
  3. Nice, I'm not setting my alarm for a storm chance here, there would be no chance of it happening then I know a spot down at Troon that would be awesome for photos if that came off with lightning probably visible towards Arran.
  4. Latest meto Strathclyde text forecast has a max temperature of 30c for tomorrow! Convective weather have also expanded the storm risk for tonight. Albeit its a low chance. Convective Weather CONVECTIVEWEATHER.CO.UK Forecasting thunderstorms and severe convective weather across the British Isles and Ireland for up to the next 5 days. It feels like it's going to be warm today, the sun is out already
  5. The rain has a funny shape towards cumbernauld.....
  6. Starting to intensify a bit now with a few stronger cells popping up. Most are East of the M74 or North of the central belt so far..
  7. Showers starting to form now with some dark bases to my south. I'm heading to Ayrshire soon so you can guarantee what will happen with the storms....
  8. Not my photo... There's a video on the page too, it's not that big.
  9. Yeah they're in killie but no photos, seems to have formed quickly so it'll just be photos of rain if I get them now! They are reporting loud thunder
  10. They're getting closer but have lost intensity and no more lightning. Hoping they reinvigorate but I'm not hopeful. Another band moving into the far south which will no doubt give the far south some more storms soon.
  11. Bit of blue sky now so I can see the massive anvils from the storms over Ayrshire, if they continue to move North they should just get here before Christmas!
  12. 100mm/hr+ rain rates over quite a large area, suspect that will be hail with flooding likely! Kilmarnock to Galston look like getting hit next - that will be A77 flooding again, unless it dies off - I'm tempted to take a drive down but as rossco mentioned, visibility is poor.
  13. Interesting storm that, looks like it keeps decaying on the western edge and then re-building northwards. There aren't that many lightning strikes on the detectors but radar returns look strong!
  14. The more active part is on the east side of it and barely moving. I can see the cell going up near Kilbirnie, that may have given the earlier rumble, otherwise is must have been elevated.
  15. Just heard a rumble of thunder! Nothing on radar is that close though...
  16. Lots of towering cumulus just to the south of Glasgow so wouldn't be surprised to see a storm form close to here soon. I'm avoiding hay-fever so not going out for a better view!
  17. You never know it's just a forecast and you're close enough. It's brightening up here too now which is only a good thing for storms
  18. The first heavy showers have formed in the same area as the last few days, just south east of Girvan - the new storm capital of Scotland!
  19. Oh well... UK weather warnings WWW.METOFFICE.GOV.UK Met Office UK weather warnings for rain, snow, wind, fog and ice. Choose your location to keep up to date with local weather warnings.
  20. An upgrade from both the met office and convective weather this morning, fingers crossed
  21. The sun is also really struggling to burn through the cloud here @NUT but its still warm at least. @igloo might have been hit by that storm, looked torrential with hail from the radar. Let's hope more join in the storm fun later or tomorrow!
  22. I was woken up at 2am by a torrential downpour with hail, one of those where you think there will be some thunder... but there wasn't it did dump 6mm of rain in a short time, so the plants and grass are now well watered!
  23. Pretty intense cell just formed to my south west, can see it out of the window but no thunder or lightning. Looks like we're in for a bit of heavy rain either way!
  24. The Netweather short range model is going for heavy showers and storms for the North and East from tomorrow lunchtime, it then has more showers and storms over towards Glasgow later in the evening and overnight. The models won't nail the exact location and it's pretty widespread so there's the chance of a downpour almost anywhere tomorrow. 23c here currently
