  1. The first sleety splodges of the winter falling here now, I can only see them on the velux though!
  2. Could be worse, you could be @CatchMyDrift who has just moved to Canada where its expected to be a balmy 17c this weekend, as the sleet and snow falls on his old house (just for fun as he's probably seen more snow so far in his few days of Canada than I will all winter!)
  3. Snow and ice warnings issued for tomorrow night into Thursday, they miss out here... @Northern Strath should do well!
  4. The first meto forecast for low level snow here, also a mention on Friday... Wednesday: Bright or sunny interludes and frequent showers, these turning to snow on the hills and then to lower levels this evening, and accumulating over high ground. Maximum temperature 9 °C.
  5. Good luck with the move! I love that area so I'm not jealous at all.... I've been to Banff and Lake Louise twice during the winter and even proposed to my wife in the snow there! Please keep @Mair Snaw and the rest of us happy by sending some snow photos In other news, I'm off to buy a sledge as this December is likely to be the snowiest on record with no @CatchMyDrift in the country
  6. Cracking squall just went through with torrential rain and very strong winds.
  7. Have you kicked him out of his house yet? Oh yeah, it's raining again...brief respite tomorrow before a wet weekend!
  8. We were well west of the warning area and still managed at least 40mm of rain, that would still have been a decent dumping of rain if the front came in from the west! I like heavy rain
  9. Snap, nice and frosty outside. Altnaharra is also at - 5c, not long until snow hunting begins now
  10. Just noticed the Edinburgh storm generator is getting going again!
  11. Some heavy bursts here but nothing like what the city centre has been getting. Pretty bad downpour there just now with reports of flooding on the M74 and M8.
  12. Took this photo yesterday, horseshoe vortex? It got better after this picture before being obscured by lower level cloud!
  13. Storm over Ayrshire heading north on route to East Kilbride /Glasgow area but I doubt it will make it personally... Edit:nearly dead already!!
  14. Real Edinburgh M.FACEBOOK.COM Real Edinburgh, Edinburgh, United Kingdom. 97K likes. Images of Edinburgh and the surrounding areas from a local photographer... Couple of good videos on here.
  15. The Amber warning area shape looks like a tornado ?
  16. If you look at blitzortung it shows it as all to the east and associated with those storms. Not sure why it's so different? If you play the radar back a few hours the trough appears to be very slowly moving to the west/North West so more central areas surely in with a shout over the next few hours.
  17. Hopefully @Stormeh has driven to the forth road bridge to get some good lightning photos for us
  18. Woah, looked outside since you lot were posting about it and there's lightning flickering away to the east. I think it's the top of the storm at Biggar as I can see the cloud tops lighting up (I actually thought it may have been a supercell for a few radar frames but probs not) Edit: multiple directions so may be Edinburgh storm too, crazy to see it from this far away!
  19. Not surprised, it doesn't look like its far off of 2 hours of torrential rain now and there's another cell forming just across the forth!
  20. I can see the anvil and convection from the Lesmahagow storm from Ayrshire, looks nice with good visibility!
  21. Good news, we've been removed from the met office warnings
  22. Convective weather have expanded the slight risk to cover most of southern Scotland the central belt and Western scotland - fingers
  23. Mild, wet and very windy at the moment. Looks like a squall line is about to come through and knock over the bins I just put out Oh aye and it's been like October with 50mm of rain so far..
