  1. Not exactly forecast but torrential rain falling here now, tomorrow is looking hot but unsettled so I guess that's the heatwave coming to an end. (fingers crossed for storms tomorrow, noted the meto text saying "unlucky" for those getting the worst!) This rain has caught a lot of people off gaurd this evening who are rushing to get the washing in 🤣

  2. Brilliant start to Autumn so far with plenty of sunshine and temps into the mid twenties.😎 Tomorrow looks hot again, maybe slightly warmer than today here with the chance we get one of those showers or storms heading north tomorrow. Tomorrow feels like one of those days where "the weather man got it wrong" and everyone heads out to school and work without a jacket only to be soaked mid afternoon... We'll see I guess, should be pretty isolated.. 😄

See the Met Office have just issued a thunderstorm warning for here.

Going by the experience of previous warnings this summer, looks like a nice sunny afternoon ahead!

Currently 15c, light winds and overcast with a few glimpses of blue sky, especially towards the NE.

Haha that normally happens with storm warnings for me too. Its currently absolutely tipping it down with rain and hail here and we're not in a warning area, at least it's a bit more interesting than light showers 😁

Biblical rain this morning on way to work.

@Ross B Did you make it back OK? Or are you still there.

Yep, got back on Thursday evening thanks. The last week was great for storms, got loads of photos and video which I'll dig out and post at some stage. Hope you had a good holiday! Looks like it has rained most days since I left and the schools broke up for summer, the grass was about a foot high when I got home which was great fun cutting...

Currently sitting out at pool at 34deg in the shade almost 8 at night. Storms look like returning later in the week. Ac inside is at 72 so thank goodness for that.

We were doing the same🤣 nice little storm today, made it cooler for about half an hour.

  6. Thanks @Kayemill, the flight was pretty smooth despite storms around at takeoff and landing (the clouds from the plane tail cam were pretty cool) . We also got through MCO in record time for us and we've been a lot. Some rain when we landed but not much. We'll be trying to stay away from the alligators 🤣

Sorry I’ve not been on but it’s been crazy here in Florida. Wednesday, thunderstorms on arrival. Thursday, thunderstorms from very early afternoon through evening. Today we headed to Universal Orlando at 8am with the storms chasing us. Would have been really disappointing if we had not been before as all the outdoor attractions were closed due to the lightning. Seen some belters but as it’s our holiday that has to take priority over trying to catch it on film. Meant to calm down after tomorrow so looking good for @Ross B

Ah wondered how you were getting on. I've been keeping an eye on the radar and it's been stormy at some less common times like those early morning ones! Glad it's calming down a bit, although would still like a few storms. Looks stormy over the weekend still, so might have a bumpy landing on Sunday... And bumpy take off from Manchester actually. Enjoy @Kayemill hope the storms go back to the usual quick afternoon downpour.

Just a tad wet at Hampden ATM..............still dry here

Yep, can see the downpour from here but we're dry too. A 5min downpour today at 3 and one yesterday at the same time which was a bit more extreme. Just about as tropical at gets here!

Well we're off to Florida in the morning. It's cooled down a bit over there at least. I see there is an early threat for a Caribbean storm in the form of Bret. Knowing our luck it'll end up over us again. Think it was Mathew the last time we had one over us.

Safe trip! It seems like the thunderstorm chances are increasing too... there's another one behind Bret so it should be interesting!

    ⚠️LATEST MODEL DATA ⚠️

An Amber warning will be likely if this is even slightly close surely, really not common seeing such high hourly rainfall rates

3>5am looks insane Fife,Stirling perhaps Livi Falkirk areas around there too 😳💣

That should help with the river levels... 🤣

  11. Another very warm day and we're at 26c. Cloud has finally started to build up and there are some dark bases beginning to appear so it looks as if the showers are about to start breaking out in the south-west.

The latest water scarcity report is now out https://www.sepa.org.uk/media/pafixnwi/water-scarcity-report-16-june-2023.pdf

Doesn't look good but not surprising, we're showing as extremely dry for the last 90 days rainfall here.

Seen some belters in the past. One year we arrived it was horrendous. Couldn’t see turn off and ended up going way off track. I remember once we got to civilisation we were sitting in Outback Steakhouse on Formosa gardens blv with constant lightning. And I mean constant. My daughter was crying. Never been at this time of year before. We’ll see what happens!

Yep I've see some great storms there. I've been a few times at this time of the year, most of the time it's hot with a storm or shower in the afternoon. It's quite normal to hear thunder from nearby storms and they close the rides/pools for a bit.  I've been at this time of year and had warm rain most of the day nearly every day (once) and the total opposite where it never rained and there were forest fires everywhere but the norm is showers and storms around every afternoon.

Speaking of Florida it's another hot day with the temp at about 26c so far😎
