  1. We've just had a heavy hail shower here. That's something that has not really been evident during recent winters. Anyway, April showers have at least begun early with bright blue sky now ahead of the next batch of rain
  2. Yep, very frustrating winter in terms of snowfall. Some really cold periods especially during December, but only dustings of snow here. We now have sleet which is on the verge of turning to snow now..
  3. Cold, drizzly rain here now - another bust for a potential frontal snowfall event, I've lost count how many that is now! Looking forward to April showers and a bit of warmth now too
  4. I have no idea what happened today but if its the bit I think you mean I've seen people come off the M77 and think that's a dual carriageway and they are on the wrong side of the road...its a tad scary when they're head on with you and they don't realise until the last minute! It's also a bit where cars don't realise the end of the M77 slip road is there and end up in the farmers field. With that steep slope plus snow and ice today I can imagine that could've been nasty too.
  5. The first time this winter we've had something hit from the North West, finally... 20230314_115914.mp4
  6. Very heavy snow here with everything turning white now after melting away earlier. Meto just issued a weather warning for it too.
  7. A heavy snow shower at 5am has given us a covering of snow on top of a layer of ice. Looks like more inbound
  8. Its finally changed over to snow here and lying on the cars. Rather typically the heavy precip is all to the west as it moves south so doesn't look like it'll come to much.
  9. Same a very wet day yesterday with snow melt, followed by torrential overnight rain. You should be well placed for some of those heavy snow showers later in the night and tomorrow morning at least I'm not convinced about the front, even if it snows it's likely to start before darkness so getting anything to settle will be an issue.
  10. The heavier precip has begun here and it is still snow (although not as heavy as I'd expect given the radar) . Pavements beginning to turn white with most other surfaces covered
  11. Yep, we're getting there. Will be interesting to see if that heavier bit stays as snow or if it changes over to sleet/rain...
  12. Very marginal, we've had some heavyish bursts and it's settled on the cars and grass but nothing on the pavements/roads yet. Nice to watch though!
  13. Some pretty mild air coming in from the west with that front, 6c when I just drove thro Central Glasgow with some spots of rain. 3c here with the precip inching closer, I'd guess sleet with a chance of snow in heavier bursts. Plenty of gritters out and about tho...
  14. Yep. Not looking great. On the other hand, no problems with intensity on Sunday night for the rain, it looks torrential!
  15. Light snow falling here with blue skies. Most of last nights snow has now melted in the strong sunshine. We might scrape another dusting tonight. Still not convinced about tomorrow here, technically we should be in a good spot but the intensity of the front keeps getting downgraded. Who knows though!
  16. Don't look at the Yorkshire thread, it's a what we could've had.. Meto only mentioning hill snow tomorrow on the texr forecast for strathclyde.
  17. Yep, we've had some snow but not depth to it at all, don't think we've had more than a covering unless I'm forgetting something... We've finally hit a heavier shower here and all surfaces are white. Looks like it's heading south now so unlikely to get much more.
  18. Meto just extended the showers weather warning to cover all the way thro the central belt to the west /south west!
  19. Yeah it's a bit marginal here too, we've had a heavier burst of snow with most surfaces turning white but it has mostly melted on pavements and the road Edit:that's more like it, 12 hours of this and we'll make that 40cm.. .
  20. Just looked out the window and the road is very very slowly turning white, I can see tyre tracks already but I can barely see the snow falling and its barely visible on the ground. Also, I wonder how Arran is doing, there's been moderate to heavy precip showing over Arran for hours!
  21. Yep, northern areas likely to hold onto slow moving snow but it's not clear what that means, presumably north of the central belt given the charts though. Need to figure out how I can build a tower onto my house to get it to the 200m
  22. That looks a bit like a snow to rain event for the central belt south, then heavy sleet/rain on Sunday into Monday possibly turning to snow, but very close to a snow event. Hope it's wrong and it's all snow but I' not expecting much, especially with no warnings issued.
  23. Central belt finally removed from the warning, 40cm forecast on Monday down to 0cm now, oh well it happens rather a lot
  24. Yep, haven't looked at any charts but met office text forecast is back to outbreaks of snow for strathclyde later this afternoon and overnight but not mentioning anything significant. Weekend forecast is a cracker though...
