  1. Its another case of sit back and see what happens. Im not going to get so caught up in this that im a nervous wreck come next week. I could be shovelling snow or chilling in the house. Lets just see what we get. Im pretty hopeful though, charts looking great!
  2. Welcome BobBarley. Any reference to the musical legend there? The lake effect gave some serious dumpings on the east coast! One of those would go down nicely! Lying snow up at my in-laws. Very cold and murky here all day. Not a sight of the sun!
  3. Just the lightest of flutters now! My mate down in Downpatrick says the sun is shining! Opposite picture here!
  4. Its official! We have snow in Ballyclare! Not a mission of it lying as it looks a little wet for that but raises hopes for the potential later this week!
  5. And you Watcher and everyone else in our Forum. I hope 2013 brings you all you wish for especially Peace! Cheers everyone! P.S. Watcher: Where is the free bar and what hour?
  6. Wind getting up again and nothing todo with the sprouts! Rains on. Think things might get a bit rough overnight and into tomorrow. Hope you all had a great Christmas!
  7. Cheers everyone! Its more important that is a peaceful and pleasant Christmas than a white one. Plenty of time yet for the cold stuff!!!!!!
  8. We are in double figures outside now! A mildness I haven't felt for a while now! Oh.......... This is your 30 Minute Call to the virtual festivity drink!!!!
  9. Very mild out! Done all the crappy shopping thing. Logs, coal, turf in! Booze in. Pressies bought ages ago. Christmas ASDA shop done last night and was the most stress free in years thanks to protesters who stopped anyone getting in by the main entrance (not many know you can walk in from the other side) Veg shop run done and butcher run done (just the big bird to get on Crhistmas Eve). Very happy with all done so far. Going to see the big man in the red suit at Logwood later! A wee Port then for later tonight. Who's for joiining me for a virtual sniffter then??? About 8.30pm all can raise their glasses to our Ireland weather community!
  10. Agreed! Naff so far and now at page 29. Lets get it on with a new page and maybe, just maybe our luck will change!
  11. Bitter cold today and very frosty and lifted in a lot of places but on Rathlin Island (yes, I made it back), there was not a drop of frost there but they say they often avoid it. Understandable I suppose. Still no oil and therefore no heating. What a time for this to happen. Hoping for some snow but i'd be happy to hold on if we get a drop of proper stuff before the big day!
  12. It's kinda like going back to the 1980's. That in itself has it's benefits!
  13. Baltic out there now!!! Frost has never lifted off the grass here today. Im booked onto the Rathlin Island ferry in the morning so kinda glad its all calm. Risk was go out tomorrow in bad weather and being stuck there. Enjoying the cold snap even though the boiler packed in on Friday night.
  14. Well my chickens are eating for Ireland right now! Do they know something??? Another thing! Our house is on the flight path of geese. We get quite a lot flying through in the Autumn and spring time. I've had quite a few fly over the house in the last week or so and I have never seen them fly over this late in the year. You can hear these guys from about half a mile away too! Anybody got any ideas if that has meaning??
  15. The model thread is a bit of a head melter! Most folk see what they want to see in models they would as soon discredit as always unreliable. Had some fairly heavy sleet on the way home from Coleraine this evening. No doubt about it that we are in winter and things looking interesting for the upcoming period. Coal up and log up!
  16. Drizzly muck for an hour or so and then rain. Nippy all the same!
  17. Bit cooler in Ballyclare and after a beautiful clear start to the day we have pea soup here.
  18. Serious reading there in the 12z thread. I'm drained now!
  19. Hope things work out for you PS! Thinking about you buddy!
  20. I saw that and it did make me wonder. I think they sometimes go a bit OTT with the forecast.
  21. I'm sure we did have a frosty start this morning but there was a seriously heavy rain shower that woke me up about 7ish! Had a little bit of sleet around ballymoney about 9ish too!
  22. Left Ballyclare at 6 this morning heading for Maynooth! rained all the way and was bouncing when I was crossing the border. Left Maynooth about 4 this afternoon for home and i started to rain about the border and got heavier all the way north!
  23. Better man-up and make my choice then. 29th Nov. Had to go to Coleraine on Thursday Morning at about 6am. Thick fog until I got to the top of the Colin and then I broke through above to see a big foggy blanket in the valley below. Tried to get a photo but it was still too dark and the first lightening was just starting. Foggy on and off to about Ballymoney and then frosty all the way!
