  1. Sadly not in my area it seems. I doubt it'll even rain let alone thunder.
  2. How anyone can put the word "pleasant" in the same sentence as 32c is beyond me.
  3. I'll be glad once the autumn arrives and the weaker sun and shorter nights put the kibosh on anything like that (up north at least). My sanity is being sorely tested by these wretched heat incursions or the possibility of them at least.
  4. Could well see that again if the end of the ECM's latest run is right. Feel like I've just been kicked in the gut. The last thing we need this time of year is real influence from that vile Azores High. I really hope to god its gone nearer the time
  5. I feel the same way when the model thread gets 2-3 posts a day...
  6. Well hopefully we'll get a decent winter this year and you and I can actually agree on something
  7. How is making an objective statement inferring any criticism on you? I was merely stating that every time there's been mention of thunderstorms, we've seen very little. I will therefore try to be more concise in the future
  8. And that was an objective statement of likelihoods is all.
  9. Since we haven't had a real winter for nearly 7 years now. I'm guessing they'll be pretty mute.
  10. True. But the sun is generally weaker then. Not to mention the encroaching nights.
  11. There's about as much chance of widespread thunderstorms as there is of a british woman winning wimbledon.
  12. That thread is just full of heat lovers is all. Once this vile season and all associated with it is banished for another year, they'll go with it.
  13. GFS putting the icing onto a very foul tasting cake once again; not only will we see hot/humid muck from the continent once more, it looks like its going to hang around longer than before. Roll on, Autumn. 59 days to go...
  14. Not in the budget at the moment lol. I had an "air cooler" once where you put an ice and cold water into it, but it was frankly pathetic in its effectiveness. Amazon at least lists portable air conditioners at £399 or so. Considerably cooler? Well if thats the case, then you clearly know more than I do (no sarcasm intended!) I was going on the concensus that you add 3 degrees or so to the temps shown on the GFS charts. 24/25 would be 27/28. Good to know that I might be overestimating them.
  15. Anyone with a weatherboffin-noob dictionary want to tell me what temps those colour gradients represent?
  16. GFS begs to differ. As I said above, take into account the undercook and it could well hit 27/28. Thats hot in my book. Especially with the rancid humidity and the lovely 18-20c nights.
  17. Because it was still around 32 even in my area. The text shows NW examples. Not just SE.
  18. GFS showing 28c potential again. This summer really does seem hell bent on feeding us extremes, one way or the other. The Autumn can't come soon enough for me.
  19. Factoring the usual undercook, it could well reach 28 again in my area. It was really nice today aswell. Sunny, dry but not hot. This summer seems hell bent on feeding us extremes one way or the other. Roll on, Autumn. Roll on.
  20. GFS still intent on spoiling the pleasant weather we have today with another import of muck from the continent come Thursday. There's actually a 6c difference between the 0z and 6z for friday too. Wonder which is deemed more accurate.
  21. Couldn't agree more. Sadly the GFS is intent on spoiling it with another import of muck from the continent come Thursday.
  22. As of right now, no. GFS is the only one showing a chance of upper 20s. I am not chart savvy enough to translate the ECM, but its apparently cooler than the GFS's output. I'm hoping it'll scale back nearer the time, as I'd like sunny weather with more comfortable temps. Even I don't want it raining all the time.
  23. The GFS begs to differ. 24c on Thursday and 25c on friday for my neck of the woods. Take into account the typical undercook and that could be 27/28c repectively. Not forgetting the lovely 17/18c nights to go with it. Its official: this country cannot have pleasant weather without heat. I truly wish the Azores would sod off.
  24. Models once again perpetuating the notion that we cannot have high pressure without heat. I miss the days of average summers. Getting tired of these extremes (in both directions before anyone says).
