  1. This is Markyo we are talking about. He likes his summers at 16-21c. Anything higher is heatwave central. Lol
  2. Staying cold in Latvia, despite the warm up over this way and where Stainsbloke is.
  3. We’ve now decided from next year, we will go back to Latvia for Christmas, or at the very least the new year. I’ll call in sick if I have to, if I still find myself in a job that doesn’t allow me to have time off in between Christmas and new year. I’m fed up of having a dull boring Christmas, although last years was cold and sunny, but seeing the snowy scenes of my partner’s family home, makes me crave the snowy conditions even more. If covid is still here next winter, we will take our chances. Not sitting in London again for another festive period.
  4. Went out for a 30 minute walk about 2.30. Usually do this before having our Christmas meal. It felt quite chilly here in west London and colder than I thought it would be, given the milder weather that took over since Thursday. Was 7c this afternoon, after a mild start, the temp actually dropped during the afternoon. A cold cloudy damp Christmas afternoon, but stayed dry. Not a classic, but at least it still feels seasonal in my location.
  5. Have a Happy Christmas everyone. I think I predicted Christmas Day would be around 10c in the 2021 predictions, so that’s Sod’s law. My partners family have been covered in deep snow and minus 5c daytime, and minus 15c during the night. Looks nice over in Latvia, and we usually spend the second half of the Christmas break over there, but covid has once again stopped us.
  6. Christmas number 1 of 1979. Never tire of this video. This is the original one, not the 1982 version. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HrxX9TBj2zY
  7. I think the Christmas period last year was ideal. It was cold and crisp with sunshine. But, the grey damp is something I’ll settle for. So long as it’s not ridiculously mild and sunny, then I’m ok with any outcome.
  8. A touch of early Style Council. Reminds me of the Christmas period.
  9. 1986 was a bleak year, I remember it feeling cold, but the June period had some hot sunny days. I think 1980 might be a year I would hate, after what was a disappointing winter of 1979/80 following the classic cold winter of 78/79. We had a chilly March, followed by a very sunny and warmish April and May period, something similar to the 2020 spring, but not as long. A very mild dull February, a thundery June, followed by a cold dull July and a humid cloudy August. The winter that followed was another snore fest. 2002 is another year of boring nothingness.
  10. A JD and coke it is. I was mocked for having a snowball back in 1994, while at a painting college. A beer, cider or whiskey and coke was the order of the day, but no, I just wanted to be different on that occasion and never heard the end of it lol.
  11. I agree on that. I enjoy the festive atmosphere, seeing loved ones or being with people you care about. The music also adds to that, mixed with nostalgia. The shopping thing has never appealed to me, and I don't understand the excitement behind queuing up around the block early on Boxing Day morning for the sales. Then again, each to their own. I'll just listen to some retro shows and unwind with a beer or cup of tea :)
  12. For anyone who feels like having a moan, including myself. Happy Christmas in advance
