  1. I’ve been wearing a jacket or top over the t shirt during the past week or so. I don’t do much, but I love listening to the radio and music during my downtime.
  2. Work life balance is always the key.
  3. That’s like me not understanding you and Markyo walking round in a t shirt in December when it’s 12-14c.
  4. I can’t remember what you actually do for work? You make music on the side right?
  5. I don’t believe in having the heating turned off if I feel cold. I would go without food for a few days before I consider not using the heating.
  6. They are just jealous others can afford to, or have the ability not to need to work those kinds of crazy hours.
  7. I would argue over the same amount of time, we’ve had unseasonably cool and unsettled weather during summer periods, as well as spring time. The colder weather during March to early May was conveniently ignored by some who deem it ‘warm’ unless temps are south of 5c.
  8. Those people need treatment. Seriously, I can never get over the whole ‘I don’t put the heating on until December’ nonsense.
  9. Yeah, and what’s wrong with that? I had my heating on during August 2017, because it felt chilly. If we get 30c next week, I won’t be moaning about it being ‘too hot’ that’s for sure.
  10. And what does this prove? I grew up during the 80s and early 90s, in a cold flat. I never adapted to it. It was horrible waking up feeling cold during winter months, and going to the toilet in the cold. A horrible feeling.
  11. Yeah, this is more abnormal for high summer than a spell of 29-34c.
  12. I actually had heating on from late September last year until early June this year. That shows you just how cold it’s been on and off, between the milder periods.
  13. Not all homes are easier to warm up. Our place was still like an ice box until early June because daytime highs in my location were barely scraping 20c, even with the sunny periods. Shady properties can remain very cold for longer periods. The June heatwave really helped, and since then it’s not really dropped below 22c. Still looking forward to any potential hot weather that might come along next week, although it’s probably going to be brief. I beg to differ. Last summer was such a tonic for the mood. Made everyone happy, long periods of blue skies and hot sunshine.
  14. I hope we get some days of 26-29c with sunshine at least. Fed up with this bloody drab weather since early July.
  15. It was nice and snowy around Christmas time in Latvia. Saw falling snow on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day morning. Also was nice to see snow already on the garden for a few days from a previous dump of snow, when we arrived on the 22nd December.
  16. Opening of clouds now with sunshine, but also high altitude clouds that look thundery. Could be a sign of later storms to come.
  17. There’s no way we are getting a cold winter. We all know it will be definitely much milder compared to last winter, and will be a very mild one. No daytime highs below 10c all winter, and many days in the 12-14c bracket.
  18. Probably a warm spring and long hot summer between May and September next winter, bookmarked by a very mild winter and a cold one at the end. It’s not worrying at all. We need the heat and sunshine back. I’m all for a 3-4 week hot spell of weather.
  19. Having the Atlantic sitting to our west is always going to give us unsettled and horrible weather at times.
  20. Long periods of dull weather have really taken a toll on lots of people. I’ve noticed just how many people feel depressed this summer compared to last year, and also how many people have colds in my office. It’s due to the very poor summer we’ve been having. The funny thing is, you will be colder and snowier come winter, while we will be dealing with similar temps of 12-14c lol.
  21. Even that 40c wasn’t too bad. We loved the evening walk, even though it was 25c at 10pm. If felt like Spain and was lovely.
  22. If it’s a choice between summer 2022 or summer 2023, I would have to pick 22, despite the mid to high 30s temps. There’s no way I can tolerate damp rainy cloudy periods of weather for too long, especially at the time of year when you expect nice hot sunny weather.
  23. You can rely on good old Antoni to knock it down for you Or it might get struck by lightning tonight if there’s a storm.
  24. I really hope there’s some warmth, as I’m off to Devon for a long weekend on the 18th to 20th. 25-30c will do nicely, but at the very least, low 20s and sunshine with no cloudy conditions.
  25. The heat haters must be in their element this summer.
