Snowing again!

It’s been mixed fortunes for people. Best spell I’ve had since 1980s but I can understand how it’s been pretty rubbish for others

The BBC weather forecast just Now on the news channel Just gave a top temp of 2-3 on Friday. I prefer the Met Office temp of -1

A true geek always has a ruler!

It’s been an amazing day today. Not had snow like this that bites into your face and a lazy wind whipping up drifts across the main road and snow that’s falls at 3” in an hour since the 80s. This is why I love a proper easterly. Also great that it brought out the community spirit round here, the road was kept clear by a guy with a snowplough on his Land Rover and the footpaths were cleared and gritted and young folks pushed cars out of trouble and I stood and watched the snow in awe over a pint in the pub with other folks reminiscing!

Still heavy snow. Didn’t look that much on the radar. Getting quite tricky on the roads around here

7” here and it looks pretty impassable to drive up out of the village

Funny isn’t it. Places on this side of the region have had their best powder snow event since 1996. Shows what a mixed region we have

That was a bit of a drive home! Worst since 1996. Good job I have a defender.

Heavy snow falling in wilmslow. Stopped me working!

It’s hard to believe when you have driven down in a blizzard it’s like someone has drawn a line through Macclesfield. One side deep snow the other sunshine!

Looks like there could be a few mixed fortunes in the region today.

Very heavy snow in Bollington and Macc. Thick across the main roads. Driven down to Wilmslow and the sun is shining and just a skittering

Roads are pretty atrocious out there. I’m lower down in Bollington and it’s pretty bad. Salt has just frozen. -8 last night. About 3 inches of snow

Ha! Not so sure about that. Bloody freezing here. Oh, and it’s snowing I’m definitely South of Manchester!

Snowing steadily here in East Cheshire. Admittedly next to the Pennines I no time for them to fizzle out

We have had a red warning once for snow here and it was on the day. It means ‘take action’ which would be too early now anyway. Anyway. That cold pool coming over in the night has really made that cold bite. I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of areas got some pretty heavy snow today. They seem to be quite readily pushing across the Pennines now.

Just has to keep south and it’s game on for extended cold

Hopefully we can get enough depth so that the sun makes less impact on it tomorrow especially with the increased cold coming in now as well.

Light but steady snow falling again here. Less gaps between showers now

I wonder whether some of this could head towards in the night, seen on Twitter
